admirable packaging minimal real value
A while back I noticed my vision was slowly getting worse and I had to hold books further away to read them. This condition known as presbyopia is caused by the loss of elastic tissue in the eye. Our faces and other areas sag, our eyes cannot adjust the lens properly- all "normal"aging. It is not reasonable to expect exercises to improve this condition very much but proper vision therapy can work to improve vision and buy you some time before you develop the inevitable sequel if you live long enough- a catarct. After I read a few chapters in this book I realized it had most likely been written during the recurring "yoga craze" and correctly pegged the publishing date of 2010. At that time and to some degree still "Yoga is good for everything" prevailed (s) Remember Yoga for Weight loss,. As with weight loss there are far better ways to improve your eyes and NONE of them have anything to do with Yoga. Its a clever synthetic creativity concept but it will not add anything to MacFarlaine's routine of 100 years ago except some actual Yoga and Tai Chi exercises. If you like millions of others are presbyopic spend your money on vision therapy or one of the books about Vision therapy with some exercises that will restore your binocular vision and lens muscles. If you want to do Yoga do it for all the other reasons to do Yoga. There are many good ones but improving your vision is not one of them. The one thing they did get right in the book is the brain eye connection, but strengthening the eye muscles without attention to binocular vision and presbyopia was summarized far better by Stuart MacFarlaine 100 years ago. This book is a hodge podge of his work, some Yoga with a little NLP tossed in for cleverness. I am not impressed or improved by it.

Very "New Age" and probably good for minor prescriptions.
From reading some excellent books, I've helped my myopia some by relaxation exercises (like the Bates ones of swinging, palming, deep breathing ect.) and by using regular prescription glasses for driving, a prescription one diopter less for everyday use, two diopters less for computers and paperwork, and no glasses while reading. Their are many online sources such as Zenni Optical, where quality glasses can be purchased inexpensively. My myopia is very strong at -6 diopters. She has great sections for eyes that don't work together well, and good eye exercises and eye relaxation exercises. Some of it is too unscientific for me such as specific personality traits causing specific conditions like that astigmatism means different parts of the eye focus differently, so astigmatism is correlated with an unfocused lifestyle such as a clean house and a messy garage. Glaucoma, pressure in the eyes, is caused by "Pressure building up inside. Unexpressed or unresolved dilemmas that build up. (I prefer the scientific explanation that glaucoma is usually caused by eating too much carbs and sugar, high blood sugar and possibly diabetes). Or you have floaters because "Life is cluttered up with incomplete things floating around".It's a fun read and may help improve your eyesight.

Very helpful
I have several other books on strengthening the eyes through exercise and/or nutrition, but Eye Yoga has more in that the way we see - left brain, right brain - is discussed at length, research is cited, in an understandable way. Why not 5 stars? The writers are very focused on the need to work with a partner, which could be off-putting for someone else like me, who does not have anyone to work with. While I cannot say at this early stage whether my vision has improved, doing the exercises every morning has been beneficial in lessening the strain I have experienced, working on the computer for much of the day. I am not using my glasses at home anymore, things are not quite as sharp, but less dependence on the glasses is a positive thing. I wear them for driving, hoping to improve my distance vision. I'm in my 70's and believe this can be helpful to others, even in their later years.

This Book Is Working For Me
I read through the book one time first, and am now on about week four of actually doing the exercises. I went for a physical last week and my eyes were rated 20/25 in both eyes, up from 20/40 in each eye at my last physical. I could tell my vision was improving, but was surprised it had improved that much with only four weeks work. I plan to keep doing the exercises and keep improving. It has improved my close up vision as well. One note of encouragement, I have not used a partner to date to as the book suggested. So do not be discouraged if you do not have someone handy to fill this role. Although if you do have a partner you will probably progress faster. Copy the chart, tape it to the wall, and get to work. Everyone who visits you will ask is that an eye chart on your wall? Just take it from there and respond however you wish.

Simple and Powerful Vision Improvement
I wanted to see more clearly with eyes and mind and this book delivered both. The easy to follow exercises have retrained my eye muscles and my brain. I work on the computer for several hours a day, and had developed tension and stress in my eyes. With the easy to follow exercises from Eye Yoga, I have retrained my eye muscles and my brain. Once I educated my eyes and brain to the new way, my vision improved . It's fun and I'm pleased that I am taking care of my long-term vision health. A side benefit is that the stress I had carried in my shoulders from the hours in front of the computer has vanished. You see why I highly recommend this book.

Eyes Better Than In Childhood
I purchased this book for my forty-ish husband several years ago. He didn't read it. This year we started seeing our amazing Iridologist (happens to be a chapter in the book on this topic). He started to believe in the power of the eye. He remembered the book and began reading it.With his regular eye exercises listed in the book, the Iridologist was able to confirm that he has GROWN new nerve endings in his eyes which has improved his eyes to a point he's never seen in his life. Even since childhood.

Great work
This is great work.Well thought out and planned to help you make your eyes better. My eyes are much better. I have also used good nutrition to assist which is also important. This book takes care of the mechanical and emotional components of the issue. It is a shame the clueless person gave it 1 star because is involves more than just skimming through a page 5 booklet which is typical of today's quick fix mentality.

Good book! There are details information in it
Good book! There are details information in it. I admit I did not read it all, but I keep doing the eye-circle exercise everyday. Better if you have a partner doing the exercise with you as recommended in the book.
