Buy THe WHole Series already - the 2 Volumes Available That Is!
This series, much like its anime counterpart, is fantastic. Grasping the reader with cuteness and interesting plot and relationship developments, it masks all of those with a culinary approach that, realistically, brings people together and the characters onward. Tsumugi is on point this volume, with the first chapter focusing on her dislike for green peppers. A pllay-by-play of the anime episode, it is a hit, like the rest of the chapters. Please do yourself a service and buy the first and second volumes of this series, it is worth the price and space on your shelf. It is taller and lenghier than all of my other average manga, physically more like a black lagoon volume.Grade: B+, not necessarily as good as the first volume but this is being EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE in scoring. I give all volumes of this series an A, and anime also certainly. The volumes to come will further develop the relationships of the characters with one another, and it will be intersting to see what happens when we pass the point the anime ended at.

Why must this series make me so hungry
This is such a cute story, but the one thing I do not like about it is I like to read this in the middle of the night and the Japanese recipes looks so good!

Delicious Fun Continues in Volume 2
The first volume made me fall in love with the series and craving for the second. The second volume was good but didn’t reach the deliciousness of the first. As enjoyable as it was, nothing really happened to progress the plot. You could call it a filler manga. The chapters mostly involved the same plot lines from the previous volume – Tsumugi craving a certain food and her father needing help from his student, Kotori, to prepare the meals. All the same cute, funny shenanigans. There was an addition of 2 new characters to the mix – Kotori’s friend, Shinobu and Kohei’s friend, Yagi. They have pretty entertaining, unique personalities. I like that they see things from a different perspective and have insightful comments. This is definitely a light-hearted read, with nice story, with beautiful artwork. And according to the preview, there is definitely going to be drama in Volume 3. I’m definitely sticking with ‘Sweetness & Lightning.’Recipes: Gratin, Yeast Doughnuts, Squid and Taro Stew, Gyoza, and Goehimochi

Love these characters!
My heart squeezed and broke a couple time during this volume. The festival and it's results, parent's day and it's insights, these all made for an outstanding volume. I can't wait to get volume 3!

Hondo y conmovedor
Parece mentira como con la simpleza de la tinta y el blanco y negro puede darse forma a una historia tan sencilla y humana
