This pan has served well. Contained a small leak which was caught in time. fits perfectly under my dishwasher. It does not slide out when I pull the dishwasher out.

This pan fits under a standard dishwasher and is quite sturdy. We did not secure a hose as well as thought and thanked the Big Silver Toaster for the luck of having installed this below the dishwasher because it channeled the water onto the floor and we were able to see that and deal with it. I would recommend the floor under your dishwasher be level with the floor in front of it (we had to buy a small sheet of plywood to level the surfaces as the floor under the dish washer was lower). This is perfect and does what is expected - it channels leaks out of the open end (installed toward the floor) onto the floor so you know there is a leak and prevents the water from going under cabinets, flooring, or worse, rotting the floor. We spent quite a bit of time shopping for this product because we were not well versed, but highly recommend it. Day one of the new dishwasher and I would have otherwise never known it was leaking! This saved so much time and money with such a simple design.

As with many reviews of this product, I purchased this after we had a bad slow leak which caused a flood under our kitchen floor. Not good. Big deal. After paying a bazillion dollars to have our floor replaced, we wanted to do whatever we could to make sure that wasn’t going to happen again. I made sure it was going to fit and actually did a little extra underneath the mat as well- waterproofing between the floor and wall, since it’s a floating floor- with a waterproof tape type product, then laid the mat in. Even the guy who installed the dishwasher commented that it was a nice product. I feel a little more secure with this under the dishwasher, and think that it will help us be alerted to a leak- much more so than without it. The mat seems durable and well made. Mine came in great condition, no warping or damage. I would definitely purchase this again. Can they make them for under refrigerators, too? That would be great.

Recently our 7 year old dishwasher began to leak without our knowledge. Probably leaked for weeks or months. Caused a lot of hidden water damage to a large area of flooring. When we replaced the dishwasher, we placed this dishwasher pan under it. With this design, IF the dishwasher leaks again, the water will run forward and we will know quickly. Great concept. Fit perfectly.

I had an undetected leak which likely started out as a slow leak, before the hole in the rubber ell got large enough to produce a puddle in front of the dishwasher. I suspect that the water went to the back, rather than coming out the front. So it began to soak that area over the course of many months. Only after the leak got large enough did i see water coming out the front. It caused a fair bit of damage to the floors, especially under the dishwasher, which is how i know it had been going on for a while. For now i can live with the damage, but it will need to be repaired eventually. Since i had already pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet to replace the leaking part, this was a good time to add a drain pan underneath it before returning the dishwasher to its cabinet enclosure. Wish i had done this proactively, but i never thought to do it when i bought the house. At least i'll now know about leaks in a timely manner, before they do more damage. I found it easiest to tip the dishwasher forward, slip the pan underneath the back legs from the rear, then slide the pan & dishwasher approximately into position. At that point, i positioned the front of the pan just past the cabinet opening kickboard (so water could come out around the kickboard and be noticed). It was easy to hold the pan down, then slide the dishwasher exactly into position. It was easy to both move the pan & dishwasher as a unit, and also easy to hold the pan in place while moving the dishwasher on the pan. For me, it was a one-person operation. Some reviewers complained about the ridges in the pan. What they don't seem to understand is that the ridges give the pan bottom structural integrity; water will flow around them easily, so they are not a problem in the least. The pan material seems to be sufficiently thick and durable. It is plastic, but i don't see that as a problem for this application. I think a slightly smaller size, with its edges inside the feet area (so the dishwasher feet don't need sit on the pan), might have been just as effective, and would be easier to install (as it wouldn't require pulling the dishwasher out of the cabinet). However, in my case, since i had already pulled the dishwasher to repair it, this wasn't an issue for me. It may be that such a design isn't practical, as some dishwasher bottoms may not allow for a pan to be slipped underneath without pulling it from the cabinet anyhow. Easy to use, but installation does require pulling out, lifting and then pushing back in the dishwasher (you may or may not need to disconnect power or water lines depending on the length of your existing lines). Mine is a base square (24x24 in) with three raised sides and one open side. There is a slight taper from back to front to the open side - which allows water to drain to the front of the dishwasher. This is by design and lets you know you have a problem. If it drained in any other direction, you may not discover the issue until after major water damage had been done... This is a simple product that works. I recommend it if for no other reason than piece of mind - small price to pay for that. Mine is black and works well against my hardwood flooring. These drain pans are compatible with a wide variety of dishwashers. Please measure the bottom of the dishwasher frame (width and depth) to determine the size of pan you will need. Pro Tip - the leveling legs should fit inside of the drain pan side walls.

To be fair; this isn't one of the more exciting purchases you'll make on Amazon, but a dishwasher drain pan is a great idea, and I'd be keen to use one for things like the fridge as well. Many ages ago I found out what our drain pan for the fridge had cracked, and leaked water into the back wall of the kitchen for months. That was a resplendent joy to clean up from, and I've always been paranoid about a water leak from the dishwasher going unnoticed. This helps prevent that issue by channeling ANY water out the front so you can immediately see that something has gone wrong, not after months of rotting cabinets and floors. Pair this up with a water detector and automatic water-main shut-off, and you've got yourself fully covered in case of a plumbing leak.
