Black Widow [Blu-ray]

Surprisingly excellent!
This action packed origin story of Black Widow (Natasha Romanov) is a highly entertaining, heartbreaking, yet touching and funny film that fits nicely into the Marvel universe. The chemistry developed with her “surrogate/fake” spy family is genuine and really the center of this film. Some critics were rough on this film, but I think they missed the boat on this one. It was way better, start to finish, than any of the naysayers said. Florence Pugh is an absolutely adorable stunner, the first film I’ve seen with her. She’s perfect as Romanov’s “better than. blood” sister. The overall tone of this film is indeed different from other Marvel films, but this is a good thing. Be sure to get all the way through the credits for a little extra Easter egg scene implying future films developing this side story.

Now you see why she wanted to clean her ledger
Sad yet it's a needed back story. I expected more violence

One to complete the collection
Another rollercoaster ride from the Marvel franchise. Hold onto your seat. Very dark in parts, but heartwarming and human in the end.

First one was missing digital code, Amazon swapped it out and the second one was fine.

Provided good background on the lead character
If you are not a Marvel comic book superhero/superheroine fan; then you will see this as just another movie with a "bad@$$ female" lead. If you are already familiar with the Marvel comic book character Black Widow then this will give you a bit more about where the character originated. The movie overall is a good "movie night" action flick that has an actual storyline that you can follow. The action is NOT so over-the-top that while you are watching you're thinking "there is no way...." Several critics kinda panned this movie, but I found it to be entertaining. (As I like action movies). Scarlett Johannson does a great job and so does the actress that plays her sister!

Black Widow" is a long-awaited and action-packed addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that dives into the backstory of Natasha Romanoff, the enigmatic Avenger portrayed by Scarlett Johansson. Directed by Cate Shortland, the film offers a deeper exploration of Natasha's character and her mysterious past, filling in the gaps of her history and motivations. The story follows Natasha as she confronts her past and reunites with her estranged "family" of fellow Soviet-trained operatives, including Yelena Belova (played by Florence Pugh), Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian (played by David Harbour), and Melina Vostokoff (played by Rachel Weisz). Together, they must take on a dangerous conspiracy orchestrated by the villainous Taskmaster."Black Widow" excels in its character development, particularly in fleshing out Natasha's complex personality and inner struggles. Scarlett Johansson delivers a compelling performance, showcasing Natasha's vulnerability, strength, and wit with authenticity and depth. Florence Pugh also shines as Yelena, bringing humor and emotional depth to the film. The film's action sequences are dynamic and well-choreographed, offering thrilling fight scenes and high-stakes espionage missions that keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The visual effects are top-notch, creating a visually immersive experience that enhances the film's adrenaline-pumping moments. While "Black Widow" provides a satisfying exploration of Natasha's character and her relationships, some critics have noted that the film may not break new ground in terms of the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe narrative. Additionally, the pacing of the film has been criticized for being uneven at times, with certain plot points feeling rushed or underdeveloped.Overall, "Black Widow" is a solid entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that offers fans a deeper look into one of its most beloved characters.
