Clear and Informative
I was lucky enough to have Suzy as my college professor when this book was published. I have recommended the book to friends and will continue to do so. Suzy is not only a sharp editor but also a fearless entrepreneur who has learned through trial and error what it takes to be a great freelance editor. Great resource for all freelancers!
I have attended many of Suzy's classes on running a freelance business and I was beyond excited when I found out she wrote this book! She is the most successful freelance editor I know and I have found her book incredibly useful, especially regarding the more technical and less intuitive parts of running a freelancing business (such as taxes, contracts, etc.). Although this book is geared toward editors, I've found it just as useful for my design business as well and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking to grow and manage their freelance business!

Would highly recommend!
This book gives me a great confidence boost. I was already confident in my editing skills, but all the logistics of running a business overwhelmed me. (As the author observes, “editors tend to love words but fear numbers.”) This book not only explains freelance editing in a clear and organized way but also provides practical solutions for overcoming weaknesses and obstacles. I can't imagine diving into freelance editing without this map!
