Liked Most of These Puzzles
I have many of Djape's Sudoku books, and believe that he has the best Sudoku Variation books out there. I no longer do the traditional Sudoku puzzles because I find them boring and too easy. However, I did have some issues with this book:- Starting on page 91, the cells are too small. I take notes in the top of the cells, listing the possibilities. Even with a razor-point pencil and writing as small as I could, I was unable to fit more than 3 numbers in the top of a cell. There are a few reasons that the puzzles here are smaller. One is that if the puzzle is type Frame or type Outside, then that chews up space outside of the puzzle, so the boxes are narrower. Another reason is if the puzzle is type Killer (my favorite), then that requires dotted boxes inside the puzzle, also taking up more space.- The puzzles are assigned one of five difficulty levels: Easy, Cool, Thinker, Brain, and IQ. I found the ratings on many of the puzzles to be way off. Generally, all the ones marked Easy were indeed easy. But I also found quite a few of the puzzles marked IQ to be quite easy. Those include ones on pages 4, 12, 20, 24, 34, 43, 57, 87, and 93. I consider a puzzle to be easy when it can be solved using basic principles of Sudoku, without having to write a whole lot of possibilities/notes in the cells. On two of the above puzzles, 24 and 34, I solved them without having to place ANY notes in the cells, which is rare for me even on easy puzzles.- Conversely, I found a couple of puzzles that were significantly more difficult than the rating. Those would be puzzle 29, rated Cool, which I found to be very hard. The other is puzzle 46, rated Thinker, where I found the "Greater/Less" piece to be very difficult, although I did solve it. I would suggest having just 3 difficulty levels rather than 5, possibly: Easy, Hard, and Extreme.- Regarding the puzzles starting on page 91 where the cells are very small, I didn't even attempt the Killer sub-puzzles. Those have the least amount of room in the cells, and usually require the most notes/possibilities.- The last puzzles on pages 96-101, named Clueless Loco, are actually 9 puzzles with an embedded 10th puzzle, described at the beginning of the book. They are all marked as difficulty: IQ. Again, the cells are too small, and crazy small in the Killer sub-puzzle included in each of them. I found most of those puzzles to be moderately difficult, not requiring too many notes. However, I did not complete any of those puzzles, again because I did not even attempt the Killer portion because of the extremely small size. I'm sure I could have solved all of them if I wanted to spend the time to transpose the Killer puzzles onto a piece of paper, then work on it from there. I was too lazy to do that.- The description at the beginning of the book regarding the last 5 puzzles says "you will notice that the central nonet of each of the 9 puzzles is shaded and empty". They were empty all right, but unfortunately not shaded. The shading would have helped because it is difficult visualizing individual pieces of puzzles within a 27 x 27 grid.

Best Book from DJAPE yet, wonderful variety of multi loco's
Challenging puzzles and fun to do, the paper is nice, the puzzles have good variety and the loco's are more fun to do. Only complaint is that the left hand side ones are hard to hold open. However since I don't like the ones with spiral binding I really can't complain. Buying my second copy now that I know how to do all the types in here.

Really like Djape
I love the puzzles. I've gotten Djape's Loco 1 and 2 books several times. Two things I do not like about this particular book, though. First, there are no instructions. I had to google to find out how to solve the "outside" puzzle. Second, I can't get the book to stay open without working too hard at it. The Loco books are spiral bound, so I'll just keep getting those.
