The auger was supplied without the drill. It is just like a piece of rod without the drill. In the picture there is a drill attached to the augur . But in the user manual they are suggesting to use electric drills. Amazon should refrain from advertising such vendors.

Bought this to help loosen up the soil around my rhubarb. I worked like a charm. I used my cordless drill and it easily went down into the compacted soil and with the drill in reverse it easily came back out. I have also used this to loosen up the soil which helped greatly in digging a hole. The metal is sturdy and it seems to be constructed well.

I purchased this auger drill bit to help loosen the soil and dig holes for new plants in our front yard, and it worked extremely well. Excellent small auger. I needed to dig 1 1/2 inch holes for a temporary bamboo fence. This worked perfectly, like a tiny posthole digger.
