We have ordered this item several ties over the years as my husband has had knee and hip surgeries. Other products were not as safe or reliable for use with a cane.

I bought this to use after my hip replacement in March. It is now the beginning of July & I have to buy another 1 because it is worn out & cracked. I really liked it in the beginning, but it should have lasted longer than 3 mos.

This is a GREAT & STURDY cane tip!My mother, who is in her 80's and is recovering from an illness, has just started using a cane. We noticed that "normal" rubber tips were unstable as she's regaining her balance after her illness. So, I researched numerous canes and tips (feet). I actually purchased three different canes for her. LOL! But, none of the tips seemed stable enough. I checked out a number of "quad canes", (that have 4 metal legs and tips in a cross pattern), that claim to offer more stability; but then read a medical review issuing warnings that many patients trip over the metal legs. Then, I found this rubber tip on Amazon. It is FANTASTIC! It offers stability, but doesn't extend very far, so there is far LESS chance of my mother tripping over it. I will say that because it is solid rubber, it does add weight to the cane. But, because it is one solid piece of rubber, there are no plastic pieces to fall off, compared to similar products on the market.After all my research, we added the Carex Self Standing Cane Tip to the EZ-Get-Up-From-Seat Adjustable Cane By Royal Canes, from Amazon UPC #811319013878, which is a light cane with two handles, one for walking and one to help my mother get from a seated position to standing. What a great combination! I have added a picture of both the cane and the tip.

I was transitioning from a crutch to a cane but the standard crutch tip seemed unstable. I have arthritis which adds to the instability. The tip fits standard canes, my was a 7/8" tip and installed easily and seems securely fastened. The four prong tip added stability and the cane stands on its' own. The width (footprint) of the tip is about 4-5/8" (outside edges), hence the added stability without adding a lot of weight. Also I have attached a pic of the tread- although I have not been outside on a wet sidewalk or dirt path, it seems like good tread to prevent slipping. So far no scuffs on the hardwood floors.
