If your cats need a lot of playtime but you need to get back to work, this snake is a good option, and especially if you have hardwood floors. It just goes and goes! My cats are fascinated. Does require recharging every few days.

This is a reticulated plastic snake that is pulled by two wheels under its head. If you're not running it on immaculate hard flooring, don't bother. This thing ran over a bit of cat hair, and that got stuck up in the wheels. To disassemble it isn't easy, and you pretty much have to break it to pull the wheels out and remove the hair. The gears are cheap plastic, so now my snake just goes around in a circle.Further, the cats aren't overly impressed. We have 6, and they all gathered around to watch this new critter. They weren't scared, but they weren't engaged. One cat pawed at the snake's head a few times, and then they dispersed. Save your money and buy a wand toy or something stuffed with catnip!

To start. this is awesome. I'm buying another for this new kitten.Now the bad. No, lets talk the good some more. When I let this guy go in the living room (where the floors are hardwood). It wiggles as it goes, like a real snake would. And my lil' 2 month kitty is so curious . And when the snake comes up to the couch. And a regular toy would go under there. The snake puts his head under there, and beep beep. Back the truck up. It kicks in that reverse gear when it come to any obstruction. And it has this lil' tongue that goes left and right, or in and out, or both, i dunno. But my kitter bites on it and tries to pull it out. It's so funny. She likes it, and I like her liking it.Now we can talk the BAD. I put this at my parents house. And it only takes a half hour before the wheels get gummed up with hair. And I wouldn't mind so much, IF. If it were designed in such a way that I could clean it. Or better yet, have an all terrain type tire (that's a bit wider and this problem would be averted from the get go). After the one wheel clogs, the snake goes around, in a little circle. And the kitten still likes that, but I am disappointed. And the battery. So little run time. SO, I am gonna get another to keep going while I charge/clean the other. Because of all the junk I've bought her (and it's a lot). This is one of the top 3 she likes. And this one don't get lost under the couch. Yup, battery, shmattery. I'm might be salty but YOLO.

This is a clever toy. Looks and acts like a real snake. Cats stay interested in new toys only a week or two then they poo-poo it. So I put it away for a week or two, then bring it back out. They watch and follow it. When it stops, one of them will bump it to make it go. But you can't fool a feline.....very clever and know it's not real.

Downgrading this product from 4 to 2 stars. Currently it has stopped working altogether after only 2 weeks use! I can plug it to the charger but even after full charge, it’s simply not moving. The product should not be able to break/stop working this quickly.Initially the cat did enjoy chasing after the snake and was curious and followed it from room to room but I’d agree with other reviewers that charge only lasts so long and the infrared sensor design could be better.

This toy does exactly what it says it will do - it detects motion and obstacles and moves around. Problem is, my cats just watched it and seemed wary! They didn't react at all the way I thought they would! They watched it! :D So I'll add it to the pile of cat toys that I've spent a lot of money on and they don't play with. Just like a little kid! But give them the empty BOX and they'll play with that instead! Again, just like a little kid! But as to the snake toy, yes, it works as described.

First one went about 10 feet then just sat there. Yes I charged it fully first. Vendor sent a replacement. Second one made it two days then just sat there spinning one wheel intermittently. I’m not wasting any more time on this junk. One star as I can’t go lower. Vendor has been ok to work with, just a crappy product.
