Turned a basement into a kid's discotheque, perfect for karaoke and haunted house too
This arrived just in time (whew) to transform the basement into the perfect little discotheque for the kiddo's dance birthday party. We had it on one of the faster light cycling functions for most of the birthday party, but a few nights later we got to use it again for New Years Eve karaoke where we tried it with both the light cycling as well as the voice activated function which worked super well for that. We're also thinking that instead of letting it gather dust until the next time we need it (we'll definitely bust it out for Halloween to use its strobe light function on the front porch) we might put it up on top of the kitchen cabinet with the lowest color cycling function and a low-level brightness turned on as a kind of long-term ambiance light/nightlight. The more we think about it, the more potential uses we come up with around the house. Nevermind that due to the birthday being a hit, we'll probably have more requests by the kiddo to re-convert the basement into a discotheque every once in a while. We've caught the "live event" bug, and we're probably going to pick up another one of these at some point, and we might even go further - we'll see. It depends on how crazy (*cough*smoke machine*cough*) the lady of the house will let me get.The one caveat is our two dogs, they were not fans of the strobe, so we'll probably need to hide them away whenever that element of the light is in use going forward.

Simple Use OK, DMX Use May Be Good, In Between, Not So Much
Good inexpensive unit for what it does. Without using DMX for control and recall, only the defaults can be recalled from the remote, which might work well in some cases. If I create a custom color is using the R, G, and B settings on the rear of the unit, turning the unit off and on again via the remote, even with the unit plugged in to power the whole time, means that to restore the custom color, addressing the rear of the unit is needed - or, I imagine, using a DMX controller might make this not an issue.

Really cool powerful mini DJ Lights!
You ever been to a party and they have these huge DJ Lights that are super cool? This is basically the same concept except in a smaller format. The lights are definitely strong, considering the size, and ultra portable too.

Bright, Multicolor LED Entertainment Light
This Latta Alvor Stage Par Light is a nice addition to my light bar we use for our band. Yes, it has a plastic housing, so you'll have to be careful handling it, but it has a lot of nice features. Out of the box, you can plug it in (120 volts) and use the included, small remote to operate the light. It has a couple of canned modes (Flash, Fade, Change Colors) and can activate by sound. It has four LED's and all work as one. The plus is the it also has DMX control capabilities via XLR/DMX connections to a DMX lighting controller. It uses seven channels for all the features. But for ease of use by a DJ or a small stage, using the remote is very easy also. It has an arm that you use to mount the fixture to a light pole or just about anything. The light has good brightness and can be dimmed by the remote or turned on and off also. We use it to light a band sign and have it change colors once and a while to get people's attention.

Good bargain
I got this for my nephew's wedding where I'll be acting as DJ. I used to play in bands years ago and I wish something like this had been available then for smaller venues. The light is very bright but small, lightweight, and inexpensive. There are multiple ways of controlling it including from a DMX controller (sold separately) as well as a small remote or buttons on the back of the unit itself. There are red LED lights on the back of the light to indicate the current setting. It is made out of plastic except the hanger which is metal. Function modes include sound activation, jump, strobe, fade or you can just select a specific color and leave that on. The controls on the remote include off, on (color), jump, sound, flash, fade, color selection, speed selection, DMX and IP. Colors appear to be red, blue, green, white, yellow, and purple. I would prefer setting it so that one color slowly faded into the next but the speed of the fade is fairly fast and I couldn't seem to get it to go slower. Overall, though, a pretty good bargain.

Fun LED PAR4 light with advanced DMX capabilites
This is a quality "four-eye" LED controllable light that can be used out of the box via the included remote or with a DMX controller and XLR connection cabling (not included). The out-of-the-box features via the included remote include the ability to select between color options (White + RGB & YMC) or with a random jump or fade pattern. When using jump or fade the speed of the color change can also be adjusted. The remote also has a flash pattern that will provide a white strobe light feature which you can jump into by hitting the flash button and then out of by selecting color, jump, or fade. The light can also be sound activated via the remote "sound" button. This feature works well when responding to a fully produced music score, but not so much with a single instrument source or low-volume environment. The included single-page / double-sided instructions provide needed technical and DMX setting information, but do not include basic instructions for using the remote (which I guess is somewhat "click and learn"). I have had the light turn on randomly without giving it an instruction to do so. So I've simply powered the light off (unplugged) when not in use. Overall, I would recommend this light for both beginners if using just the included remote and advanced users if adding lights to your DMX controller lighting setup. It packs a lot of features at great value.
