excellent amplifier
This has helped me greatly when used with a gmrs application. Has extended my range to 20-30 miles. Very good product.

UHF RF Unit.
In general, I'm happy with the ease of setup. I hooked up a UV-5R and tested the output power of the btec amp unit. The most that I could get out of it is 14 watts. That's a far cry from 30 to 40 watts that is advertised. I started the process of an exchange for another one. Hopefully it's just a defective unit and not all of them underperforming like that.I will update this review when I get the new unit**Update** I received the new unit. I tested it. It does preform as advertised. I'm happy with the item.

Not too bad (29 Watts)
So, it’s cheap and ya it gets hot so get a fan.If you can get beyond that it’s solid and does its job. It’s 29-30 watts and used it beyond 50 miles with 2dB gain antenna on the base and Browning GMRS Nmo mag mount. It’s a price point value and this one shipped faster. I’m not sorry I got it, it’s on every day as a repeater. You may change wire size, you gotta add a fanI WOULD BUY AGAIN and I’ll update this if it changes

Works as intended.
Takes an HT radio of 4 to 6 watts and puts out about 37 watts on average. An HT becomes a base station.
