This is (so far) the oddest of Buffalo Games' cuts. The shapes are odd, with many parts of a piece so narrow, placing or moving one could break the edge off. I own many, many Wysocki puzzles, most of which are made by Buffalo Games. I'm glad they seem to have discontinued this pattern. Unhappily, I did experience this myself. I bought the puzzle new, and this is the only time this has ever happened (see photos). As for the puzzle itself, it's definitely more challenging. The sand and reeds are rather wretched, to be honest. This one takes a considerable amount of patience.

We love to buy puzzles by Charles Wysocki. He is, by far, our favorite puzzle artist. We've probably worked 100 Wysocki puzzles; this was one of the hardest. Nonetheless, we did it in two days -- we're that good, LOL!We prefer to buy puzzles from Buffalo Games because they include a poster which we find critical, as we have "old" eyes. However, due to the pandemic, it's hard to find puzzles from Buffalo Games, so this came from a third party seller and the box was crushed. That's never happened with puzzles we buy directly from Amazon. We were afraid there might be missing puzzle pieces, but they were all there.This might be 'giftable' had we bought it directly from Amazon but I gave 'giftable' only two stars because, as I said, the box was crushed when it arrived.

I love 1,000 piece puzzles. Less than 1,000 and they are to simple, more than that and I physically can't reach or see far enough to get them sorted, so 1,000 is perfect. After many other brands I find that Buffalo Games Jigsaw Puzzles and Ravensburger Puzzles are the best in graphics and quality.

Edit: I was upset that the usual high quality was missing when I opened this puzzle. But I reached out to the company and they quickly sent me another puzzle. I am going to assume the problem was isolated. After trying a few other brands I still think Buffalo makes the best-fitting pieces! And with beautiful art.Original review: I’ve put together nine Wysocki 1,000 piece puzzles during the past year. I loved the quality. Today I opened another and discovered that many pieces have “legs” that are cut so thinly they are sure to rip apart during assembly. I won’t even bother to try building this one. This hasn’t happened before. I turned over the box and the bottom says “Made in China.” Other Buffalo puzzles I bought were actually made in Buffalo NY. So disappointed! Do I need to find a different puzzle brand now?
