Great Golf Instructional DVD
McCord, for all of his irreverent humor, is an astute instructor. Nothing fancy, or difficult to understand. Simple, straightforward advice. Easy to understand and follow. He covers the game, etiquette and how to build a good golf swing. Recommended for all golfers looking to help improve their play. His explanation about the proper grip and ball position are worth the entire video.

Everything I expected
Golf for Dummies is pretty much what you would expect if you are familiar with the "for dummies" series. As a novice golfer, I really appreciated the fact that the DVD was presented in such a matter that assumes that the viewer knows little or nothing about golf. I had only golfed twice before i saw this video (Best ball in groups for fun), and I must say that I could not get ONE ball airborn. After watching the part of this DVD about the golf swing twice, i was finally able to make decent contact and get elevation. The instructions were insightful and presented in a fun way. 4 weeks later, i can consistantly drive the ball 190-220 yards. i know that may not be impressive to most, but believe me. it is a QUANTAM LEAP from where I was as late as two months ago. I highly recommend this DVD for beginners. it's entertaining, fun and VERY informative.

Excellent introduction to the game!
Gary McCord does a great job in this intro to golf. It's a big subject, but he brings it down to basics in a fun and engaging way. If I had to make any criticism, I'd say he could have stressed the weight shift for the full swing more - been more explicit. The trouble-shooting section at the end was excellent! I would have added my own downfall, hitting fat on the full swing (relates to the weight shift, aforementioned). Overall the perfect introduction to the game!

Highly Recommend
This is a great DVD and it's not just for beginners although it focuses only on the basics. That's what makes it good though, by focusing on the basics. I am an infrequent golfer but by reviewing this DVD before I play I can go out and more or less hit the ball where I'm aiming and have fun. That's what it's all about. I've watched this DVD many times and it's very entertaining, not too long and doesn't overcomplicate things. It's the best!!

Probably should give this five stars but I was hoping for magic that made me a great golfer without practicing
Helpful video, enjoyable and educational. Golf is hard. I'm the problem, I need to put the instruction in this video into practice. Probably should give this five stars but I was hoping for magic that made me a great golfer without practicing.

Good for golf dummies as well as others.
This was a very imfomative and entertaining DVD. Gary did a good job in explaining all areas of golfing. Although the video goes a little fast at times, you can always back it up and see it again. Would purchase this video even if you do have a little golf experience...it is good to brush up on your techniques.

Golf for Dummies
Gary does a good job, spicing up sound advice with good humour. He breaks up his tips into sections on stance, swing, putting, short game and common faults. It cured my swing in one viewing.A vastly entertaining introduction to the game of golf.Surprisingly, Gary looks younger in the DVD than in his earlier book. Must be the good life out on the fairway.

What it says on the TIN!!
I think this DVD is fantastic for the beginner of golf or for someone like me that has not played for 5-6 years, as a refresher on the fundamentals of how to put a round of golf together. All the basic aspects of golf are covered from TEE to GREEN, DRIVING to PUTTING and the correction of Bad shots such as HOOKS and SLICES (with an explanation of where they come from).Gary McCords presenting style is just up my street - not condesending or patronising - just witty and to the point.I watched it a few times and took the advise to the driving range and hit some far better, consistent shots than i did the week before - Perfect - just what i wanted - 5 stars.By the way, the rating of goods on Amazon is important it is what we all use to decide whether or not we are going to buy - I cannot believe the Guy who rated this DVD a two because it did not help low handicappers. It says on the cover GOLF for DUMMIES - what exactly were you expecting??

OK, but not great
This DVD has a nice relaxed style and the presenter is humourous but still authoritative. But as with many golf lessons via DVD - and indeed books - it's all very well watching, but the question will always remain, 'Can I put it into practice?' And the answer to that will only come on the course or with a one to one lesson with a pro. This DVD doesn't bridge the gap.

Not Bad
I purchased this DVD because I already had the book. The best thing in the book was the exercises by Paul Callaway, a physical therapist, but this section was missing on the DVD. It does have some good advice and practice drills though and I'm sure anyone will improve thier game.

Excellent dvd
I'm not a golfer, but I bought this as a Christmas present for my cousin who has recently taken up golf. He has found the easy to follow programme really helpful, and his golf swing and putting has really improved.

Basic Tuition
Explains very straight to the point and moves on to the next section without getting boring. Good basic information that will benefit high handicappers.
