Not jade, but don't let that discourage you.
This appears to be a treated stone to make it appear as jade. I knew it wasn't (you would NEVER get a real jade necklace for this price) So that did not at all factor into my review. The piece is very pretty. Has a nice weight to it. Must be machine carved as another reviewer stated. The beading on the "chain" is very nice! Not individually knotted, but again, price... Overall, I am quite satisfied with this. I would gift this as well. If you don't expect "real" gem quality jade, you won't be disappointed. Also, to address another reviewer's comment that theirs was black as obsidian, my second pic is this piece next to a bodhi satva obsidian piece. Recommended.
