good to dilute and use for skin
The smell of this carrot seed oil is not some smell we normally like. It has a tenacious undertone and heavy, earthy, and spicy smell. It is not necessarily great to be used as a diffuser oil. But it blends well with cedarwood, lemon, geranium, orange, cinnamon, clove bud, grapefruit, ginger and mandarin if you use it for skin. But do dilute it in carrier oil such as almond oil or jojoba oil. This one is bottled in am amber colour bottle, good to keep away from direct sunlight.

Not very happy with the smell
I have tried once before carrot seed oil, I was not happy with it. I thought to give it another go with a different brand, but the smell is the same - it is not that bad, but it gives me nausea so I am still trying to figure out how would I be able to use it. I tried mixing it with lavender oil, but I still do not like it. Unfortunatly if I am not able to mix it with another oil and use it for a longer time, I won't be able to see its benefits for a longer period of time.

Foul
This oil is new for me, and unfortunately is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever smelled. I don’t know if all carrot seed oil smells similarly rotten, but if it does I can’t imagine why anyone would intentionally use it. It smells like bitter rotting weeds, but worse. It is now in the bin. With this brand you have to remove a plastic seal and insert the plastic dropper yourself, which is doable but not ideal as it’s fiddly and the oil could be easily spilled. This also means you get the pungent odour on your fingers, and even though I have washed my hands twice with washing up liquid, I can still smell it quite strongly. No idea what this oil is used for - repelling predators maybe, I don’t know. This brand may actually be fine - but I’m never going near carrot seed oil again.

Great Oil but Pricey
I've used carrot oil for many years in homemade beauty products/soaps as it's packed with antioxidants which is great for the skin and helping ease the effects of aging/pollution and nourishes the skin well and also helps carry other oils I add. Seems very good quality on that front as is the bottle and is well presented in the little box but is quite expensive for 10ml so will use sparingly!
