Does it change color or is the chain actually stainless steel?

My son has had his for over a year and it hasn’t changed color. He’s a sweats a lot, we live in Florida. It looks really nice and wears very well.

The clasp snaps like a watch. When we first got it I had to use pliers to pull it open. Put a paper towel or towel in between the pliers and clasp so you don’t scratch it. Then pry it open. I had to do it the first time, but after that I could open it without the pliers. It’s a tight clasp , which is good, but hard to open at first.

We had trouble opening it also. The clasp part hangs over like a watch clasp. Get some pliers and put a cloth in between the pliers and metal,Then pull up. It does require some muscle, but after opening and closing it, it will loosen up.
