These worked great for lifting my Dad up so I could clean ...
It had gotten to the point that I needed 3 arms to keep my Dad turned on his side so that I could clean him up & change him & I just couldn't do it any more. These worked great for lifting my Dad up so I could clean him up & change the pads under him. Even the home health care ladies who originally told me that I was wasting my money started using it & liked it. I couldn't have continued taking care of him at home without this.

Don't Bother....
Great idea in and of itself, but doesn't work. This is the third size I've ordered, thinking I was just ordering the wrong size - but no. Every size slid down to his ankles.I actually found that using his bath sling with some "Dycem" which is a super sticky no slide material used to hold things like bowls on a place mat etc. in place and not slide around, usually used to aid handicapped individuals. You can purchase Dycem here at Amazon.I just wrap the Dycem around the part of the sling that I put around his leg before lifting. I leave the top part of the sling under him (my son) without hooking it up to the lift. So to get a mental picture, the lifting will simply put your patient in the same position as these lift straps.Seems like the things that work best are the simple things you come up with and are what you may already have or something small you have to purchase rather than all this expensive equipment.Hope this helps the people that are having similar results with these straps not staying in place.....BTW, I tried putting the Dycem on the strap that lays against the skin and they still slid down.

Lavin Lift Strap
It is a very good device to help with a disable patient. It makes it easier to change a dipper. Without it the prosidure would take triple time, and it is not hard on the care giver's back.

Do not buy it.
I tought this was the best invention. But when we bought it for our elderly client who was bedridden, it was horrible. It keep slipping. Not safe for elderly client. We tried it different ways to keep it from slipping, but nothing works. We only used it twice and searched alternate ways to help our client change their underpad.
