Badly made, badly designed. Got a refund.

Either spend more and get the real thing (Harpenden Calipers) or save the dough and get a pair of cheap plastic ones - these callipers are not heavy or solid enough to give an accurate reading plus the angle of the handle to the "scale" makes it almost impossible to get accurate readings on a bunch of sites....sorry, hate giving bad reviews but these are just not worth the $200 or so that they cost.

Not a good product. once you have ordered this product,make sure you validate the compression and calibration of those calipers. Had to return them because the compression wasn't calibrated

So the first thing that threw me off was how I opened the box and all I could see was the dial because the padding that should be attached to the top of the box was loose. I guess that can make for an interesting experience every time you open it since you have to also remove that padding but that's not a huge deal.The part I found far more concerning is that the glass on the dial was loose and I had to carefully put it back before it fell on the floor. Seeing the mostly positive reviews here, I'm going to reorder it one more time and hope that I get a unit that's shaped as one piece.
