Great gift
Got this for my grandson and it was such a hit. The magnetic pieces are a really nice touch — nothing sliding off the board or getting knocked over and lost, which is huge when you’re playing with a kid. Solid wood construction, feels sturdy and well-made, not flimsy at all. Magnets are strong enough to keep pieces in place but not so strong it’s annoying to move them. Two games in one (chess and checkers) means more bang for your buck.Folds up nicely for storage or travel, so it’s easy to bring along anywhere. Looks great too — has that classic wooden game look, not cheap-feeling plastic. He was so excited to learn chess with it, and honestly the quality made it feel like a special gift rather than just another toy. Easy to set up right out of the box too. If you’re looking for a gift for a kid (or honestly anyone who enjoys chess/checkers), this is a great pick. Built to last and just genuinely fun to use. Great quality, great gift, would 100% buy again.

Terrific chess & checkers set.
I love everything about this set. The board has a nice, smooth feel to it. The pieces fit nicely in the foam—snug enough that they don’t fall out. The pieces themselves are a nice weight, and combined with the magnets and felt bottoms, have a professional feel. I do think they got the magnet strength right. If the board is bumped, the pieces won’t move. The extra queens are a nice touch for end play. Love that it has checkers as well, and the magnets make it easy to get “kinged” because the pieces stay together. I initially got a set for the kids at church, and liked it so much I got one for myself as well. I think the price is great for what you get. Definitely recommend.
