Exactly what I need!
Product: Mr.Power Adjustable Foldable Tripod Stand for Cello with Hook for BowPurchased: January 17, 2023Delivered: January, 19, 2023Price: $50.34Review Date: February 16, 2023Overall rating = 5 StarsReview:Balance:Some reviews stated that this stand is unstable, but it is NOT! The base width is adjustable, and I have it setup to be wider than the cello, so it is very stable. I intentionally tried to knock it over, but it only wobbled!Construction:The entire frame is sturdy. Before receiving the stand, I was concerned that it might be flimsy, but I was impressed with it's overall construction! There are some plastic parts which may be fragile, but with care they should hold up fine. After all, what product doesn't have plastic parts! Really!!I use my cello stand EVERY DAY at home, so I never have to disassemble and reassemble the stand, which means that there could be some weak points that I'm not currently aware of, but it really fits my needs VERY WELL!Features:1) The feature I like most is that I can place the cello on the stand at any time, with the spike extended, and then quickly pick it up again. The stand is adjustable so I was able to place the support arms exactly where I needed them to safely hold my precious cello!2) I like having a place to store the bow. Even though it is on the back side of the rack, it is safely tucked away to keep it out of harms way.3) The fact that the stand is totally adjustable, makes it perfect for anyone to use! Originally I had the spike shorter and the stand needed to be adjusted for the new normal. All is GOOD!4) Since the stand is portable, I can relocate my cello as needed (which works great when we get visitors)! This stand has held up to 5 grand kids ("The Littles"), all 5yrs old and under, ALL AT THE SAME TIME!5) Last but not least is that amazing price of $50.34 (incl tax)! My research found no other unit that could provide all the features that I want, and those that came close would cost many times more!In conclusion, I am a VERY HAPPY customer, and I think you would be also!!Now, back to playing my cello.....

Much More Likely to Practice
When I put my cello in this stand, it is instantly accessible. Therefore I practice more often than when it is tucked into its case. It is just a safe and looks beautiful too. Great stand at an economical price.

A good design that could be even better
Storing the cello with the end pin extended makes the most sense, and the design of this with the low rise, supporting only the upper bout of the cello rather than (unnecessarily) the neck, also seems smart. In the flesh, this stand is sturdy and steady. You can also pack it up pretty compactly for gigs and stage use. The only seemingly cheap part is the plastic bow holder, which has not broken yet but is spindly and fits quite loosely and is not exactly confidence inspiring. If I were designing this I probably would nestle the cello between two of the tripod legs, rather than putting the endpin right on top of a tripod leg, as then it would fit in a corner much better and be even more stable. Also the stand could be even lower and more compact by supporting the waist of the cello rather the upper bout. So this design is not really ideal and is even a bit awkward looking. Still, it's better than pretty much anything else I've seen available. It's pretty shocking how many cello players and teachers just set their instruments side down on the floor, and such a pity that even after all these centuries, better compact stands haven't been designed for these incredible precious instruments.
