Seems a little cheap but I know they will get abused so Iโm okay with that

Perfect! Just what I needed.
Excellent little add-ons for my shop. Now I repair guitar cables that get funky. Works like a charm, and the lowest bulk price I could find.

If you plan on pulling on your cables at all, do not get these!
While these are technically 1/4" plugs, and they function as defined, they are NOT "Professional", "Heavy-Duty", or "durable". The best moniker I would give them is "utility". They will not last long in a normal use environment. If you plan on soldering them to a cable, plugging them into some equipment behind a wall, and forgetting about them, knock yourself out.BUT, if you plan on using these for a bass, guitar, or any other application where they are plugged and unplugged any number of times, they will break down quickly. The main reason for this is that the metal on the ground/shield side of the solder connection is very flimsy and weak. Normally when a cable is built, a crimp is made around the cable housing (usually into the insulation) using metal attached to the shield connection. This provides mechanical strength between the cable and the connector. On all previous products I've used, this metal is substantial enough to bite into the insulation. This allows the cable to be plugged and unplugged hundreds of times without creating stress on the solder connections. In the case of these connectors, THE METAL WILL NOT RETAIN ITS SHAPE. If you bend one side of the "crimp" into the insulation, then bend the other side in to complete the crimp, the other side folds away as if it's made of paper. This will provide NO MECHANICAL STRENGTH to the connection. The spring "stress relief" will provide no help to this. Your connections will break or become shorted under the shroud. Also, there is a plastic sleeve included in each connector. It looks somewhat like heatshink, but it's not. It simply melts into a mess when heat is applied. I had to use my own heatshink to protect the connection. In short, these are crappy solder connectors that will likely cause you more pain than their low price is worth. Spend your money on a more substantial and "professional" solder connector for your projects.

Not the best!
Not happy. If you're looking for a high-quality audio signal plug, keep searching. The cross-hashing cap originated from a piece of flat aluminum stock that was rolled and then seam-sealed together. Look at the pictures. The spring hinge fits loosely and easily comes out. The back of the cover does not have enough lip to support the spring. I don't have any faith that this will work well. Cheap Junk!
