Soft Leather
The leather is very soft but the gloves do run very small. I used the measurement guide provided and ordered a size 9 (which is what I normally wear). They just barely fit but the finger length is much too short. Other reviews suggested the fingers run long, but apparently my fingers are longer than most. I've included a photo to show where my knuckles are when I bend my fingers. Will likely end up returning them.

Nice leather gloves-glad to find them on Amazon
I’ve worn Fownes gloves for decades. This year they are impossible to find in stores. This particular pair is quite decent. I bought a size 7 which is a half size larger than I have worn in the past because my hands are aging and my knuckles are a bit larger than they used to be. I also now wear two large rings and wanted the gloves to be able to accommodate these changes. The gloves fit fairly well, but the thumbs are a little long. I haven’t tried the touch screen capability yet, but if it doesn’t work as promised that won’t be problematic for me. I bought the gloves in black and recommend them.

Storm Gray is dark gray, not a bulky fit
Really a five star product. Four star review because description was not accurate in regard to the color of the Storm Gray gloves. They are a dark charcoal gray and the picture looks like an iridescent purple-gray color. The gloves are beautiful nonetheless. I purchased the Storm Gray Smart Tips. My knuckles measure 7 1/4 and while reviews said to order a size up I ordered the size 7 (small) and they fit perfectly. They will probably stretch so I could have even gone down to a 6.5 but I won't know until that happens. For now I am more than happy with the size I purchased. They have enough stretch to ball my hand into a fist. It's not stiff but very soft smooth leather. Doubt it's real leather but it looks and feel like 100% leather gloves I have owned before. Mine are lined with a knit material that is surely not cashmere but it's of a medium soft tight knit yarn that is better than bare leather alone. Great for commuting. Not great for doing work outside or being outside for extended periods. Bulkier insulated gloves would be better for that. The best thing is they ARE NOT BULKY like they look in the picture. I have small hands and fingers and they fit slim to my hands. At the same time the material is stretchy so I think they would fit larger hands/fingers just fine too! I also like that they are long and go about 3 inches past my wrist which is about a third of my forearm. No windy draft up my sleeve! The tags were on a little piece of material sewn on the inside with a hole. It's perfect if you want to attach glove clips without ruining your gloves. It's not thick and wouldn't stand much wear but it's a nice little detail. I highly recommend this product and would (and probably will) purchase again. I bought this with my own money out of desire/necessity, this is NOT a sponsored review in any way. Pics show the gray color against my light gray scarf, next to a navy leather glove and a black knit glove for comparison.

Good and bad
Love the soft leather and cashmere lining. Very warm. I also like the extra length to prevent the “cold wrist gap”. The touch/conductive fingertips works good, in my experience. However, I’ve only worn these less than 10 times and the seam is splitting on both gloves between index and middle fingers. The color (which I love) is coming off on the fingertips and back of the hands. I wear them only when driving; I’m not doing any yard work in these! I expected better from Fownes, but the quality of the gloves I had 20 years ago is long gone and not coming back.

... wiping some snow off my windshield and they dried horribly. Also
gloves got a bit wet after wiping some snow off my windshield and they dried horribly. Also, the stitching on the inner lining came loose after a couple of weeks of daily wear. Mind you, I have worn Fownes gloves my entire adult life so this was very disappointing.Further disappointment was that I contacted the company, hoping for a replacement pair, and heard nothing. Obviously the quality of the product and customer service has gone in the tank.I work in marketing and know that 1 bad experience can undo many positives and can be the beginning of the end of a lifelong customer and company advocate. Gorgeous, buttery leather!
These are good quality, well made gloves. I wear a ladies size 9 in gloves which isn't carried in every store. One size fits most never fits my long fingers, so I was excited to find my size in multiple colors. I was worried about the fit when ordering, but I could have possibly gone down a size as they are a loose fit even considering the lining. Leather gloves typically stretch a little with wear. These gloves are in a buttery soft leather with a warm lining for a dressy glove. These are not a style for extreme cold, but for average winter days going from home to vehicle or walking a few blocks outside these are great. I loved them enough to order a second pair after feeling the first pair.

Almost perfect
I've never purchased gloves online before, so I was a bit nervous. After reading dozens & dozens of Amazon reviews, I settled on this pair, along with two other brands. This was the only set that worked for me. The leather is buttery soft & supple, and looks & feels high quality. The fit is perfect (I purchased a Medium - size 7 - I have small hands and long slim fingers) - a little snug but not uncomfortably so - after just a couple of days they are relaxing a bit. The overall fit is very slender (i.e. not at all bulky) which is really helpful when fishing things out of a pocket or looking for something in a handbag. The slender, classy look also means they'll work well for a dressy evening event (when those eventually return, post pandemic). The touchscreen works well - it's limited to the thumb and index finger The only reason I'm rating these 4 and not 5 stars is that they're not super, super warm. Today we were out for a walk in dry 50 degree weather and my fingers felt a bit cold. They should work fine most of the time in a San Francisco Winter, which never gets too cold, but if you live in a much colder climate, these may not be right for you.
