The seat is nice and sturdy, not like the thin molded plastic seats of its competitors. The only problem I found was that the tightening fins on the supplied wrench did not clear the ceramic shape of my Glacier Bay toilet as it tightened near the end. If the wrench was a little longer, it would solve this problem Also, keep that wrench in case you have to readjust the seat later. I’m happy with this purchase, but only time will tell how long the soft close feature works.

It is relatively easy to install, but it will not stay tight on the bowl and, because of the assembly mechanism, the seat will eventually not just become loose, but can come completely off. The groove caps do not keep the screws from coming out of the grooves in the hinge base so the hinge base will slide off of the toilet bowl along with the seat.

Installed this last night and I'll say it seems sturdy enough. It is a soft close seat and cover, yes, super soft close. I've watched snails move faster than the slow close of this. Who cares, but if that matters to you just be aware it's super slow. I always put the seat up, and back down, having been married for 30 years, I am trained to do that. Just seems like I didn't put it down or whatever as it starts its very slow decline to closed. One thing I wish is that the seat fit the Kohler toilet that I have, which is a bigger opening than is provided. There is wasted space on this seat that would allow for a slightly larger opening for a larger person. It doesn't take advantage of the opening size of the toilet. Guess it's a standard size or something. Instal was only slowed by trying to understand the instruction sheet, the pictures and the words were provided but the way it went together was not your typical toilet seat style. And the little cover clips at the end of the mounting base, I can't get them to fit, they just won't stay put in there. Again, who cares, don't think they even matter. But an unnecessary step and pieces to lose or break. SO, does it work. Sure. Is it over engineered? Probably. Will it hold up? Time will tell, but I'm sure it's decent quality to last.

[NOTE: Retain the IRREPLACEABLE vertical nut wrench at all costs.] Once installed the HARO seat is easy to remove for cleaning with one caveat …when either removing or reattaching the seat, the pins MUST be perpendicular to the holes or when one pulls/pushes the seat’s pins WILL NOT properly insert/remove accordingly. Very smooth, quiet descent when lowering one or both seats at anytime.

I expected a more heavy duty seat but it’s just as thin as the cheaper ones. It’s not a standard fit for toilet. Had to use included adapter. Very confusing instructions. Other than that it works fine.

Sturdy, quiet and gorgeous. Also its not enameled wood, so i can use whatever cleaner. There's no paint to rub off or possibility of staining. Super happy with the rubber bumpers because plastic ones get crushed. This seat fixes every problem I've ever had with toilet seats. Installation was a breeze.

Easy to install - no laying on the ground. Study. Like it so much this is my second one purchased.

Iem was delivered in a plastic baf in a generic carbopard box, and did not contain the fittings to connect the seat to the toilet.
