How long does this unit operate on a single charge? particularly in usb mode?

I have only used it a couple of times, it will come down to volume. Volume eats batteries. I have zero issues with the battery life But I have never timed it .

Does this shuffle songs?

I have only tried this great unit with the blueTool feature from my IPhone music collection.I can shuffle the music from my phone , so in that way it does. So sorry, not a very good answer.
