Great alternative to sesame oil
This is an amazing alternative for those of you who are allergic to sesame oil. It taste really good. It gives you that nutty flavor that you’re looking for in Asian cooking, but is a little bit sweeter than sesame oil so use it sparingly. But it has made me fall in love with Asian food again.

This is the magic secret ingredient everyone should know about!
I love using toasted pumpkin seed oil in recipes, and this brand is soooooo rich and flavorful! I just have to add a dash to cooking oil to give it scrumptious richness, and it is absolutely delightful when drizzled on soups! If I want to change up my popcorn I’ll add a small amount to the butter, and a little dash of this also makes truffle oil ten times better on popcorn, pasta, and veggies. As a vegetarian, I make a mock chicken soup and add a small amount of pumpkin seed oil and toasted sesame oil to mimic the flavor of chicken fat, and even my carnivore friends can’t believe how good it is. It’s also great added to dipping oils, salad dressing — just about anything savory! (And also some sweet things like almond cookies or granola, or other things that could benefit from added richness) And La Tourangelle just has some of the best oils out there. I love the tin too. The oil stays fresh for sooooo long, which is great because you don’t have to use a lot to get the flavor, and the spout makes it super easy to drizzle or pour. It’s just a fabulous brand, and this is probably my favorite of all of their oils. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Delicious!
I love the nutty rich taste of this oil. It’s high-quality. Its well packaged and bubble wrapped. Pumpkin seed oil is good for you. I use small amounts for different recipes or drizzles a bit. Pro Tip- real pumpkin seed oil is always green. If you purchase a pumpkin seed oil and not dark green. It’s not real pumpkin seed oil. Easy use and tight fitting cap.

Interesting oil...
Apparently pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil have numerous health benefits and more nutritional value than olive oil, so I thought I'd give it a whirl and use it with my cooking. Turns out this is a rather interesting oil to cook with. First of all, it's very dark in color, which I wasn't expecting, and yet I really like its earthy tones. Where olive oil is rather neutral tasting (to me) pumpkin seed oil is more complex and richer in flavor. I've used it with boeuf bourguignon, sautéed mushrooms (and other veggies), and even my homemade lasagna! It is a little pricey, yes, but with all the controversy around authentic imported olive oil I'm willing to pay a little more to get a genuine product.

Wonderful flavor!
I replaced the regular vegetable oil in my pumpkin bread recipe with this pumpkin seed oil, and it added a nice depth of flavor. It's a deep, rich toasted brown color, and I didn't notice any difference in the bread's texture. The loaf baked well and smelled wonderful. Worth the price for me!

Pumpkin Seed Oil 101
Although pumpkin seed oil isn't well known in North America, it's a beloved staple in southern Austria, (Styria in particular) and neighboring Slovenia, produced from the Styrian pumpkin variety; as far as I know, these are the only two countries in which it's produced. (It's known in Slovenia as bučno olje and in Austria as Kürbiskernöl.) I lived in Slovenia for several years and am quite familiar with its delightful, nutty, unique flavor which enhances many foods. Here are the main things to know about this oil: 1. Avoid getting it on your clothes at all costs, as the stain will be impossible to get out. Trust me on this. 2. Do NOT heat this oil at all. Ever. Use it cold, as a finishing sauce. 3. It is absolutely delicious used sparingly as a condiment on cold pasta; on grilled fish; on kasha varnishkes; on certain cold meats; or in a tossed salad, mixed with a bit of good balsamic or red wine vinegar. 4. It will keep well at a cool room temp, but you can refrigerate it for up to several months. 5. I'm aware that some people like to rub it into their scalp, but as far as I'm concerned that's just weird.

The cheapest very good quality Austrian made Pumpkinseed Oil you can buy in America
If you are Austrian looking for a taste of home or you forgot to bring your own bottle of kürbiskernöl when visiting the US then this one you need to buy. Product of Austria so it's most likely made in Steiermark. If your colleagues need a gift of proper Styrian made pumpkinseed oil, just send them this. If you recently discovered how delicious Austrian cuisine can be, this is your go to oil. Save the time and cost of shipping the bottle from Austria... this company did it for you! And your colleagues, friends, family, anyone can experience the full Austrian flavor... minus a nice glass bottle that says "Steiermark 💚" Look up variations of these recipes: Styrian Pumpkin Soup Styrian Pumpkin Salad (Absolutely Delicios and highlights the Pumpkin seed oil) Kaferbohnen Salad (Traditional Styrian Scarlet Runner Bean Salad with chopped onion) If you want to find more use cases look up "Steirisches kurbiskernol" and youll find TONS of inspiration out there.

Roasted flavor that's slightly bitter
I bought two popular types of pumpkin seed oil from Amazon for comparison: Pödör Premium Styrian oil (sold in a glass bottle); and La Tourangelle “toasted” oil (sold in a steel can). I bought these oils mostly to compare their optical properties, not necessarily for cooking. Taste: The Pödör oil had a light nutty taste, similar to peanut or cashew. The La Tourangelle oil also had a nutty flavor, but with a bold roasted taste that was slightly bitter, perhaps like burnt popcorn. Personally, I preferred the flavor of the Pödör oil, but not sure that it's worth the extra price. Color: In ordinary white light, the Pödör oil was dark green in color with relatively little red/brown dichromatism. The La Tourangelle oil was more olive-green in color with stronger reddish/brown dichromatism. Fluorescence: Both brands of oil fluoresced bright red color under 400nm UV black light. The color of the Pödör oil was brighter and slightly more pink. The La Tourangelle oil was slightly more orange-red in color.
