Watertight!
Having been dry-docked too many times by the VCP hatches rotting apart every year or so, I was looking for a quality replacement that would last. This hatch is well made, fits perfect, and is watertight! Time will tell on its longevity compared to the VCP. Also, for any of you who have a fiberglass Betsie Bay kayak, this cover fits nicely in the recessed rim and no modification is needed like you had to do on the VCP cover.Happy Paddling!

Great Product and Service
The media could not be loaded. My Solstice kayak is an older model and I couldn't find a factory replacement online. I bought the 8" hatch, my outer diameter of the opening was exactly 8" and it was a really good, tight fit. I called the company on the phone and they were very helpful answering my questions.

Overly Snug Fit for Older Eddyline
Fits my older 2012 Eddyline Fathom day hatch, located right behind the cockpit very snuggly - so snuggly that I have to be on land to use it.

Headline says it all. Garbage bag and a rubber band works also, and saves over 50 bux...

Nice covers!
Super nice covers. Only complaint is that they are designed as replacement covers FOR the valley etain kayak but they don’t fit the security hooks and line on the kayak. 4 options, replace the hook, remove the hook and directly tie, drill out the holes so the hook fits or reverse the line which is what I did. But I really really like them. Wish they made one for the pod.

Does Not Fit Nigel Dennis Kayaks (NDK) 8" Hatches
This lid doesn't fit on my NDK boat and I'm certain it wouldn't work on a Nordkapp and several others with 8" day hatches. The lip on the cover is simply not deep enough to make a solid seal on the day hatch lip. I think it is too late to return now, I waited too long to test the fit. Seems well made, just no way it could ever seal on the NDK boat.

Perfect fit on a Wilderness System Sealution.
I reviewed several different makes and chose this one as it described the measurement at precisely 8". It is, and it fit's the Sealution perfectly, going on tight but still easily removed. I look forward to a water test.

Perfect tight fit for old Seda kayak 8" hatch.
Perfect tight fit for my 8" fwd hatch on really old Seda kayak. Seems strong.
