Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold ITX SFF Power Supply, PCIe 5.1 Ready White

Perfect little 850 watt power supply available in both black and white. Everything works great and there is also a flange to attached to your computer if the cutout is for a full size PSU. The only issue we had was since this is a power supply for SFX, therefore small units, the cables are somewhat shorter than we needed in several cases. Easily solved with one of the extension wire kits available from several manufacturers; but some of the new small cases out need you to be creative in running your cables and that may cause them to need additional length.

It's loud and uses dark connectors with a white case. Makes zero sense unless it's completely outsourced engineering, manufacturing, and design to Great Wall like all the other SFX PSUs do engineering and manufacturing.

You can expect superior packaging, extensive manual, and reliability. + Fully Modular, use only the cables you need. + 850W and 80 Plus Gold, decent efficiency and an abundance of power. + White with bits of black for aesthetics and/or contrast. + SFX form factor, great for smaller cases

This review solely focuses on the design oversights of this psu, not the quality of the psu itself. I'm pissed off and need to rant. First of all, the 12v 6x2 cable it comes with has a downward-facing 90° connector on one side. This would be a positive if ALMOST EVERY SFF GPU DIDNT HAVE A RECESSED POWER CONNECTOR. So you can't use the connector on the gpu side, so let's use it on the psu side! Right?? Wrong! They chose to orient the connector on the psu so the 90° connector would completely block two of the pcie/cpu ports. I've never seen such a bad attempt at "convenience" in my entire life. 2nd issue is the 24pin cable. Like most psu's, there's a single 24 pin connector for the motherboard that splits into two connectors for the psu. But instead of both of the psu-side connectors oriented in the same direction, they are oriented in opposite directions. WITH A FLAT FRICKIN CABLE. So you have to forcefully twist one of the connectors 180° with almost no slack on a stiff AF flat cable. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F***. 3rd issue is just the cables themselves. I heard they were terrible but JFC. What is it with sff psu's and these god awful stiff and flat cables?? Be prepared to fork up $100-$200 extra for custom cables and waiting 6-8 weeks to get them. Normally I would just return it and find something else, but nobody else makes an 850w white sfx atx-3.1 psu, so I'm stuck with this moronic garbage. PLEASE SEND HELP.

I think the cables were wrapped and coiled well. The 24 pin connector wiring was a bit jumbled and crinkled, but fixable. I was having an issue with coil whine, but learned about dirty back-feed on circuit legs. Once I eliminated an appliance that was causing this problem it was great. But why only this psu was having issues when I have at any moment 3 cimputers plugged in? Oh well, so far it works.

I haven't had any problems since I replaced my old power supply. It's very quiet. It came with a size adjustable mount which was great because I forgot to check the dimensions before I ordered it, and its small size has saved a ton of room underneath and behind in my p.c.

Excellent PSU. And even better for me – white color + a single cable for the GPU 12VHPWR PCIe 5.1 connector (instead of 3 cables to a 12VHPWR adapter).

I had 2 corsair sf 850s, both had pretty bad coil whine and electrical interference. So i bought a different brand, this cooler master sfx model. No coil whine or electrical interference. cables are a little stiff at first but get better after you bend them around a bit. The fan can stay on for a while after a workload but its at a noise volume and frequency where its pretty acceptable. Giving it full stars. Good job CM.

Great psu, running a 4090 and 7800x3d on this with a 240mm aio and a case fan, all rgb and holds up just fine
