Dog Gate, not Child Gate
This 'HUNTEA - No Bottom Bar Baby Gate for Stairs and Doorways' is made for Dogs! The product information and AnnJ's review is spot on in my opinion. It is too flimsy to trust it to keep a child from pushing on it and falling down stairs. It would be fine at the bottom of your stairs but not the top!Screen grab from Amazon on this product below. See Target Species is DOG.** This paragraph below was taken from AnnJ's review posted in 2024. I tried to go back to it and find the exact date but Amazon's algorithms apparently have prevented me from returning to her review now. RULE ON PRINCE BEZO..."If you leave it higher off the ground it can be easily lifted off the hinges. It just has flimsy plastic ones. Bars are also easily bent. I personally would not use this for babies or toddlers at the top of stairs. It will not take much pressure or weight for a youngster to break through this. I just 100% wouldn’t. Mom of 4 and I’d be too anxious if using for stair safety! Please, if you’re considering it for the top of stairs, look elsewhere. If used at the bottom to avoid them climbing up, this should work, but again, it’s not as sturdy and can’t handle little ones trying to climb it for long."Misleading name, product marketing and should not be found under a search for Children Gates because it is made for dogs, NOT CHILDREN.

Adjustable and sturdy
Was easy to install on my wall and have it attach to my banister. Is strong my toddler will stand on the bottom rail and it holds her(25lbs). Has a stopper so it doesn’t swing past the catches. Easy to open

Love this gate made for stairways
We purchased 2 of these gates. One for the top of the stairs to keep my granddaughter safe from falling down. The other one for the bottom of the stairs to keep her safe until she was able to learn how to climb or walk up safely

Lengthy/difficult install but otherwise seems good
The media could not be loaded. The gate seems like it'll work well for our needs (keeping our little baby from falling down the steps). We were previously using a pressure mounted gate, but the threshold you have to step over and the small gate opening made it a less-than-ideal setup. It felt pretty unsafe. This wall mounted gate seems like a much better solution! Took me about an hour and a half to install, but probably would have taken about an hour had I not made the mistake outlined below."Pro" tip: If you plan to keep your trim/molding on and want to attach your mounting hardware to it, be sure to measure the width of your doorway both at the bottom AND at the top of where your gate will likely be installed to make sure it's possible first. The gate itself can only adjust to the width of the vertical bars (it isn't a free-moving gate where you can pick any width you want, the verticals bars MUST line up). At first I only measured between the trim pieces. I believe the width was about 35" so I set everything up with that width in mind. When I was trying to fit the gate into the mounted hardware, I realized that the top width of the doorway opening (which was just against drywall and not trim) was obviously larger due to not having the additional material of the trim. The top width was about 37". You'll see in the photo I posted of the instructions that these two measurements fall in between two different gate width settings which meant the gate wouldn't work as-is. So....to my dismay, I had to remove the trim so the top width more closely matched the bottom width so that I could choose a workable gate setting. Otherwise, the gate would not have worked for our doorway. I don't love how ratchet it looks without the trim, but I'd rather have to figure out a workable solution for that than have an unsafe or unusable gate.

Perfect Product
Absolutely thrilled I came upon this item when I was searching for a way to keep my grandson’s Lab out of my dining room which has two doors that I’d been using chairs to try and block his way in…….didn’t work. Not only does it do the job it also looks great, like it’s part of the furniture decor.

Fit at the top of our stairs!
This gate is perfect! We have it at the top of our stairs. We were able to widen it to fit the width we needed with no problems. Installation was quick and easy. The gate is sturdy and offers me peace of mind knowing my little babe won’t take a tumble down the stairs. Also love that there isn’t a bar at the bottom of the gate.

Best gate we have ever used!
I love this gate! We have used many styles of gates in our home. This one is by far the best. Very sturdy. Great range of adjustment. Easily opens with one hand and the fact that it opens completely with no blocking of the walk way and nothing to step over on the bottom is super nice with kids and going in and out with car seats in hand!! My wife is glad she listened to me on buying this gate. That’s a big win right there.

Best gate I have ever bought
I’ve gone through many gates that my two-year-old has broken many different doorways. I’ve used the same gate at the bottom of my stairs in the hallway and I’ve even bought another one to cover his doorway. This allows me to keep the dogs out my crawling seven month old and my two year-old to have their separate spaces. It does make a clunk noise when you open and close it but as long as you take your time to close it, it will be quiet. You can make it just tall enough that you can hike your leg over, but the fact that it goes into the wall and into studs is perfect. He runs full force into it with his bike with no damage. I have fallen climbing over and it still stood up. The swing functionality is fantastic and worth every penny as this is my third. I will continue to keep buying thisThis is a very strong gate and I will definitely make sure that anyone who’s looking for a baby gate takes this gate exactly under consideration 10/10
