Key Words for Astrology

I bought this because I am a big fan of Hajo Banzhaf's books on the Thoth Tarot  Keywords for the Crowley Tarot  and  The Crowley Tarot: The Handbook to the Cards  (Not as scary as you've been led to believe. No horns yet, but my hooves are coming in nicely.)I was scrolling through the umpteenth page of astrology books and pounced when I saw Banzhaf's name. "Keywords" is actually a humble title for this book. It provides a narrative method for quickly getting to the heart of planets, signs, houses, aspects and the chart as a whole (in the final section of the book). I have other astrology quick-reads, but none as well-written as this one. It contains the usual sections on the signs, individual planets, etc. These are then woven together by Banzhaf's technique of examining the relationships within each component. For the planets these are Principle, Strength, Problem Areas, Goal. For the signs he subdivides the Action, Thought and Feeling areas with their own Strength and Problem Area. Planets in the Signs and Planets in the Houses are similarly outlined. I have found that the descriptions fit whether applied to a natal placement or a transiting influence, especially for the outer planets. I love the section on the aspects between planets. It shows a brief list of evocative single words for each planet, then expands on the interpretation by showing the Harmony and Discord possibilities of the pairing. This book will definitely bring new perspectives to your interpretations and increase your understanding of yourself. If you like that kind of thing...

Just when you think you don’t need another astrology book. I had studied astrology for 25 years before I stumbled upon this gem, and it is now my go-to astro book. It’s so to-the-point and easy to use and yet packed full of so much good information—I just love it. I’m a professional writer, and to me this book like reaching for a thesaurus when looking for another word to use in a story. It’s great for generating ideas. I should note, the title is a little misleading, as I thought this would be a book of mostly of word lists (keywords). There are a few charts in the back with keywords but otherwise, not sure why this is the title of the book. That doesn’t really matter though. This book is excellent and comprehensive and also easy to use. The *only* thing this book doesn’t have that I wish it did was an index!

This was recommended by an online astrology class I took. It is nice and basic, easy to understand. I wish it touched more on the aspects and included the 13th sign. But this is a great book for beginners

Yes,you get alot of value for your money.I like it so much that I bought several copies.This book is great for beginners, intermediate or advanced students,and professionals involved with astrology.The authors did a fantastic job and it is a solid five star book in my humble opinion.

A most excellent source book for a person seeking greater understanding of the Astrological art. Hajo Banzhaf is a noted author whose expertise and insight you can trust. This work is outstanding as a practical sourcebook for the working Astrological practitioner.

Great reference book!! Covers a lot! Gives the real deal info...desirable and undesirable qualities of signs and planets. Very to the point book as it is a reference guide. Love love love!!
