L'Oréal Paris Excellence Universal Nudes Hair Dye, 9.31 Light Golden Blonde

I've been using L'Oreal brand hair color for YEARS - and honestly I find coloring my hair at home to be a far better solution sometimes than going to a salon for various reasons - chiefly the fact that my white roots grow out far too fast!!I used the level 6U Universal Dark Blonde. It went on very evenly, was easy to use and didn't smell too bad. I did note that this product seemed to take longer to develop/oxidize than other hair colors I have used, so you may want to build in an extra 30 mins to your hair color routine depending on your required results.Now I will say - I am in my mid-40s and I have gone SHOCKING WHITE over most of the top of my head and around my temples. Like - not salt-and-pepper, not grey - PURE WHITE. I am still learning how to care for this hair of mine now that I have lost almost all my pigment. I am learning that white hair is (apparently) actually translucent/hollow - and, as such, hair color doesn't have anything to work with inside the hair shaft. This is one reason I chose the 6U/Universal Nudes range of color by L'Oreal - they are reported to be of the shade of color that has a chance of sticking to white hair.I would say that the next time I color my hair, I do believe that I have exhausted the extent to which a Level 6 color will manage my white. Unfortunately, I am going to have to go down to a Level 5 next time, as a "dark blonde" color just is NOT going to cut it covering pure snow shite hair. Sighhhhh. Ah well. You live and learn!As an aside - this box color also comes with a really, REALLY nice shampoo and conditioner for after coloring. I appreciate that in a hair color product and I will be buying this again (albeit in a darker color!!).If you’re looking for a very good at-home box dye that will be kind to your hair - this would be one of my first choices!!

This is a great colour. It does have the shimmering highlights it mentions so your hair is not one flat colour. This product did not have strong fumes or smell. It was easy to use. I will buy again.

I like this brand and color shades, but it does not fully cover some grays.Make about is the smell free and there’s no ammonia

I'm really not sure why loreal call this dark blonde because it's actually brunette. I am a golden blonde but decided to dye my hair slightly darker as I was going on holiday and generally this makes my hair very light so thought I would give this a go to stop my hair from doing this. Very big mistake this has completely changed my hair from blonde to brunette, I almost had a heart attack looking at myself in the mirror after it had developed. Great if you want to go much, much darker but for me it's a massive NO.
