Nice showpiece
First off, the picture is misleading. The diameter of the top and bottom plates is only 3.5" However, it is built with quality and precision, and it functions as advertised. Although small, it does look cool.Finding the instructions was easy using the proper search terms in any search engine (Kontax Tensegrity Table instructions). Be warned though.. the pdf instructions are not up to date. The instructions show it should contain 8 short round-head screws .. but that is incorrect. There are only 3 in the package, along with 5 "no-head" screws (not sure how else to describe). At first, I thought the mfr had messed up. Actually, upon further inspection, I found it would work. You only need the 3 round-head screws for the bottom of the unit.. the other no-head screws work in all the other locations, and they hide the screw head for a cleaner look. Simply use the included hex wrench to install those. Overall, I like the finished product.. it's just that it's smaller than expected, and a bit pricey.

nice high quality Tensegrity
I like gadgets like this, and I've bought a few cheaper Tensegrity "floting platforms" in the past, but they were always wobbly and bendy. This one on the other hand, is all-metal and so is pretty rigid and doesn't bend. There's still a little bit of an "oscillation" if you bmp it, but it still feels pretty rigid. The assembly instructions warned not to adjust it down too tight or it'd bend, so I'm not going to overdo it and risk damaging it.The plastic ones all felt "cheap", but this one (with its all-metal construction) definitely feels higher quality. I like the color anodizing too, gives it a nice sharp look. It takes a little time and patience to assemble though, so if you're gifting it you should probably assemble it beforehand unless you know the recipient will want to assemble it themselves.

Quality and service
Kontax tensegrity tables are made in England. The quality of the parts is really top-notch.The instructions aren't printed in gibberish, but in a downloadable PDF format, that you can zoom in on. I e-mailed a question about one of the tools that come with the kit, and received a reply the same day. On a Sunday!I'm using the table to display a small (206 gm) brass sundial. The combination looks great.

Way too cool! Just what the collection needed.
High quality precision machining justifies the price. Relatively easy to assemble with detailed online instructions. Be sure to have a clean assembly area, best to work and keep materials in a tray since the screws and wires are small and there are no spares included. Works great for holding light objects and what I had intended to do with it when i ordered.

Like Icarus-So close to perfection but falling short...
First up-ETA for the directions-15 to 20 minutes. Sure, in a well-lit area where you never drop a part I'd estimate that to be correct. In my case it took about 30-40 and ended with an Amazon support call which wasn't needed. Now for the negatives-Problem One-They say on the outside of the box to pull the directions online. NP, I had this sitting around for a month but then I pulled the directions. Unfortunately they're wrong, there's two revisions-one with a magnet center and the second a tension model like this. For the love of God, please include at least a consistent link on the website 'directions-for-model-1.pdf' and put a QR code link to it. I see the revision update, my directions were updated in Jan, but they're still off which is my second point.Second issue-I wasn't familiar with 'grub screws' but I ended up with two extra grub screws but not enough round heads. The directions on Pg. 6- "Screw 2x short roundhead screws into the arms, going through the loops on the cable." Well I replace these with the extra grub screws and voila-enough parts to get it done. The round heads are absolutely needed for the tightening cables so this substitution was absolutely necessary to finish it. I've used grub screws before, now I know the formal name.So I dropped the grub heads twice, leading to extra searches. I almost initiated a return via the Amazon chat until I saw the second revision of the directions. I thought somehow I'd lost the magnets mentioned and was searching for a ghost, nope, just needed the correct version of the documentation. That directions issue and the different part quantities lead to extra time lost. That frustration lost a star but...The build quality is superb. The lines are good, the CNC'ing is great, the quality of the materials is great. It's gorgeous!Besides the directions and QR code issues-PLEASE INCLUDE EXTRA PARTS. One extra screw of all the above would be oh so greatly appreciated. I wouldn't be digging around for a 1mm wide grub screw that's about 3mm long. This is a test for your eyes but it looks GREAT and besides the minor directions issue on qty., this was a quality set of directions. And seeing it-well it IS great looking and certainly a conversation piece. It earned a good spot on the desk.If it weren't so well made and looking so cool it's 3 stars for the frustrations. If they made tiny tweaks in the production process and we'd go to 5/5 stars. I may get another one in other colors but I'm not rushing to do so until I see some updates with directions, spare parts, or both.

Well made product... but unfortunately parts were incorrect...
This is a nice and well made product. Instructions are clear and concise. Tool and 3D printed assembly fixture are nice touches and useful. Unfortunately, the unit shipped to me with one too many cap screws and was missing a countersunk screw. Now I have an uneven top surface to set objects. I will need to seek out some pretty specific screws to complete the unit correctly. Would be five stars if parts were correct.

Very Fine Craftsmanship
This finely crafted aluminum tensegrity table arrived quickly looks great. It was fun to assemble and plan to keep it at work. Great gift idea for math teacher, engineer, physics undergrad, etc. It is certainly not huge, but will look great on a desktop. I plan on using it to hold a small plant (see photo)

Fiddly but fun...
Excellent quality. The instructions would be excellent were it not for the fact that they are slightly out of date. The diagrams are superb. If you want an example of this kind of object, then although it's pricey (£48), you do end up with a quality thing rather than a piece of tat. I rather wished I had smaller fingers when constructing it, but it just took a bit longer. The design is excellent in overcoming the obvious issues concerning the multiple wire tensioning aspect when otherwise you would need 4 hands. It was a pleasure to build because of the quality of the parts. I commend the company for its manufacturing skills. I previously bought one built out of Lego, which was incredibly frustrating to build, and afterwards looked for any opportunity to deconstruct itself if you as much as looked at it.
