People's Choice Beef Jerky (Teriyaki) has quickly become my favorite go-to snack. The thinly sliced but generously sized slabs of beef are packed with a rich, savory teriyaki flavor that never disappoints. Every bite is a burst of deliciousness that keeps me coming back for more. I do want to give a heads-up that there are occasionally thin strips of sinew in the slabs. These can be a bit tough to bite through and can lead to some extra chewing. However, I've found that cutting the slabs into smaller pieces makes it easier on my teeth, and the sinew becomes less of an issue. Alternatively, you can bite and tear the beef off the sinew, or just spit the sinew out if needed. Despite this minor inconvenience, the flavor and quality of the jerky more than make up for it. One thing to note is that this isn't soft beef jerky. If you're used to eating softer jerky or other soft foods, be prepared for a bit of a workout for your teeth and jaw. The texture is firm and chewy, which I personally love, as it adds to the satisfying experience of enjoying a truly hearty snack. I've never had a bad bag of People's Choice Beef Jerky, and I appreciate the consistency and quality of their product. You get a lot which is nice since a single bag costs a lot. If you're a fan of robust, flavorful jerky that offers a satisfying chew, I highly recommend giving this a try.

People's Choice is a great jerky in general, when you add in the price compared to other comparable products it brings this up to an excellent value. If you want a deeper dive, keep reading, but if you are just looking for a legit review to make a decision just stop and click that buy button. For those that want more information: I have a problem... A problem with beef jerky, one that I just cant beat. The issue is that I can sit and eat jerky until my jaw falls off, or I die from stomach expansion. My background on jerky is that I like all types so keep that in mind when reading my review. Ive had so many different jerky/biltong/meat sticks/dried meat styles and flavors, I have a large palate for jerky. All of that background said, some of my favorite flavors involve garlic and spice with a mild level of sweetness so Teriyaki falls in line well. Being that I can eat a ton of jerky I only sometimes buy small batch gourmet styles and really rely on the average market products that aren't too hard to find. All of that said, when rating People's choice without price as a factor it still falls above average. Some of my observations (having ordered several 15 slab packs): The thickness and size of the slabs varies and you will receive many different sizes in one bag. The tenderness also varies from a soft easily bitten slab, to a leathery piece. (I personally like this as sometimes I want to gnaw on some jerky, and other times I want to nibble with my pinky up) The flavor is pretty consistent and its not overwhelming (Teriyaki) and even with the original the flavor is great, more beefy. The quantity of stringy tendon meat is low as well, maybe 2-3 slabs where you notice it more than others. For slab style jerky its on average better than other brands I have tried. First things first, $40 for beef jerky is pretty high in my opinion, but once you see this bag, you'll understand. You do get ALOT of Jerky, and I say that as a bigger guy. It's thin and dry which is great, and the flavor is good. Nothing mind blowing, but good. Maybe a bit heavy on the onion/garlic, but nothing unbearable. The real value to me is how much you get. The beef cuts are good quality, and satisfying as a snack after rebuilding a doorframe. HEB sells tiny bags for $6-$7 and you barely get any, but here you pay $40 and actually feel like you got $40 worth of Jerky. Great value. Will buy again.

I really wanted to like this jerky, especially since it’s marketed as whole-muscle slabs and made in the USA. Unfortunately, this was a big letdown. The teriyaki flavor was overly sweet and artificial, overpowering any real beef taste. Instead of a balanced savory-sweet flavor, it tasted more like sugary marinade than jerky. The texture was another major issue. While it’s advertised as thin-sliced slabs, many pieces were either excessively tough and chewy or oddly rubbery, making it unpleasant to eat. I expect jerky to have some chew, but this required way too much effort and wasn’t enjoyable at all. For the price, the quality just doesn’t match expectations. I’ve had much better jerky at a lower cost with more consistent texture and better flavor. The portion size also felt disappointing considering how expensive it is, especially when several pieces weren’t even edible. Overall, this was not worth the money for me. I won’t be repurchasing, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really enjoy very sweet, tough jerky. There are far better options out there in this price range.

Taste is good!!!

I've been getting the classic Teriyaki and the Original for a few years now, and it seems as though the quality has been inconsistent in the past couple of years, though still much better than the big name brands. The first ten or so orders were fine, but after that it's been maybe 50% quality. This is the second bag I've had to throw away due to the jerky tasting "off" (let's say here on a public forum). One time is understandable, but twice now and couple with several times before where the meat quality seemed much lower that normal (much more tendon possibly than muscle maybe...I don't know, but about 25% of each slab would be inedible and fibrous). Again, the previous quality issues are relatively easy to overlook considering the shifting nature of the beef market. I don't mind giving a good business a few passes, but when I tell myself, "This is the last chance," ...and it's an entire "off" bag again...well...here we are. I swear this has always seemed like a great company...excellent variety of specialty jerkys...maybe that's it...more effort is being spent on the specialty stuff with the larger profit margin perhaps...I don't know. I'm just an old man.

Perfect for beef jerky fans. I’ve subscribed to this for months, now. Ever had a bag of juicy tender jerky? This isn’t it. It is far from dry, however. The other “juicy” jerkys tend to get your hands sticky which is terrible for a snack like this. This one is firm and light, sticky-free, but very tough. This is not for those with weak teeth. The flavor is sealed in and while chewing it is released so salivatingly perfect and it becomes tender while chewing. It’s like: tough bite and huge reward. This holds up well and is the best quality I’ve seen so far. Is it expensive? Well yeah but it’s one of the biggest bags of jerky you’ll ever find so per ounce it’s about the same price as the rest of them but with higher quality. The slabs are about a foot long and 4” to 6” wide. For me, I’m probably not going to eat any other jerkys anymore unless I run out of this one before I get more. I highly recommend you at least try it.
