This was a disappointment.
I was extremely excited about this book once I saw the cover reveal. The cover is smoking hot!!! Beautiful, in fact. However, this book was a disappointment. The entire book was about Kate and Trey wanting to be together while Kate and, eventually, Trey dated other people. At times, it seemed like the book jumped slightly and I would be left wondering if I had accidentally skipped a chapter. After reading the Author's Note, I understood why. Alessandra stated that she removed several chapters from the book for not wanting to bore the reader. There is a link where readers can find the deleted scenes. I was excited about that; however, as of earlier today, the extra scenes had not been posted to the webpage yet.Honestly, the book did bore me and I'm wondering if the extra scenes would have added some much needed spice and depth. Also, there was ONE naughty scene between the main characters. From the cover, one would have thought there would have been cover to cover banging.

One of my major turn offs occurred in Love in Lingerie
Spoiler alert - I have pet peeves and turn offs in plot lines. One of my major turn offs occurred in Love in Lingerie. It didn't stop me from finishing the book, but it definitely affected my enjoyment.Trey and Kate (our hero and heroine) are coworkers/friends the entire story line, essentially. It is important to note that they are not together during the "incident." But even though they are not technically together, it is obvious they should be. Both want each other but aren't together because of "reasons."And this is why Trey's behavior feels like such a betrayal. They were clearly meant for each other, and yet he has sexy times with another woman.Ugh.Just no.Book ruined.

If Trey were lingerie, he would be deliciously edible
Let’s begin by recalling some of the situations Alessandra Torre has introduced to us.In Sex Love Repeat, we had a girl who dated two men at the same time (and by “dated,” I mean “dated in a such a way as their naughty bits were in fairly steady contact with each other”). In the Blindfold series, my main man Brad DeLuca was a huge fan of swinging. Torre’s Deanna Madden books feature a heroine who is a cam girl. Black Lies – well, I’m not going to tell you much about that one because HOLY PLOT TWIST. But I will say that we have a woman who, again, rocks the headboard with two men. With Hollywood Dirt, Torre headed in a slightly different direction, delivering a more traditional love story, albeit one aided and abedded (GET IT) by a chicken. And now we have Love in Lingerie, which is so freaking stupendous that I can’t even begin to tell you how much I adore this book.I am a huge – HUGE, I tell you – Brad DeLuca fan. Those Blindfolded books were gloriously, sublimely hot, and Brad is just … he’s at the top of my “I wish he were real” list. (He shares that spot with Adam Steinbeck from CD Reiss’s Marriage Games and Separation Games). But Torre has gone and upended my list because, girls, Trey Marks is fan-freaking-tastic.Trey owns a struggling lingerie business, and when he hires Kate to be his Creative Director, he does so knowing that he’s attracted to her. But he enacted a corporate policy forbidding dating between coworkers, and Kate has a fiancé, so he’s safe, right?Trey has another reason for wanting to keep Kate at arm’s length, and that reason is Brad DeLuca-esque in nature. But whereas Brad is all dangerous dominance, Trey is a little quieter, a little kinder, a little more open to feeling things. He understands the risks, both personal and professional, but he doesn’t allow those risks to control him.Kate is perhaps my favorite of Torre’s heroines. She’s feisty and smart, and she won’t allow the men in her life to dictate her decisions. She takes advantage of the opportunities that come her way, and even when she’s initially shocked or put off from something, she opens her mind to considering it, to not allowing those things to color her judgment of people. And let me just say that the sexy times in this book – which Torre keeps you waiting for in the most deliciously torturous way – are so thigh-squeezingly amazing that you will wear out both your vibrator and your partner. Torre delivers the quiver as only she can.At its heart, Love in Lingerie is a love story. The first word of the title tells you quite a bit, faithful readers. You have two people who become very close friends and who yearn to become lovers. Torre uses this to percolate their feelings for each other, showing you how and why those feelings of friendship and lust turn into something more powerful.I enjoy the way Alessandra Torre writes so, so much. SO MUCH. And this book is one of my favorites of hers. My main man Brad has some competition in Trey, who proves himself quite worthy of the comparisons.

Loved this book
What did I read? I have read a handful of Torre's books. Each one has been unique and varying in genre. Torre definitely has an uncanny talent with words and stringing them together in a way that just leaves me in awe. Those that follow my reviews know I am not usually a huge romance reader. The romance books I do choose to read are usually books that I fall for. This book is no exception to that. This book blew me away. It wasn't overly emotional. There weren't any major plot twists. But it had so much to it, I couldn't help but to fall in love.Everything in this book was spot on. I loved the characters. They were so well developed. Their relationship from start to finish was pure perfection. The pacing in romance books is usually key for me. The pace of this story was beyond perfect. The slow build. The chemistry. The back and forth pull. It all came together perfectly.I highly recommend this book no matter what genre you typically read. I can't seem to sing high enough praise for this book.

Passionate slow burn
Never did I think I'd love this book as much as I did, it pulled me in and devoured me whole. It was a slow seduction of temptation that was beyond anything I've read. The way the chapters where set up it pulled you into Trey and Kate's lives like you were right there with them, see what they saw, feel what they felt.Trey needs Kate and it would seem in more ways than one, but he can't have her. Kate see's this opportunity with Trey as a new start and wants Trey just as much, but no matter whether it's a boyfriend, fiancé, no office fraternising, he's a dangerous temptation. You see the connection between the two is everything that's not only business, but something beyond, there is wit, humour, friendship and lust. The fight can only last so long until their defences, feelings and reasonings are drawn. This was a relatively fast paced book where the words sung out to you and made feel everyone, yet it was a slow burn romance. You read it with a smile and I still feel the tingles long after I've finished.Rules are made to be broken, well they were broken and re-written friends or not, Trey will leave his Mark. This book is just everything you can want to put a massive smile on your face.

Bookworm Bliss!
Alessandra Torre I BOW DOWN TO YOU!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how AMAZING Love In Lingerie is. I mean I'll try but hot damn, NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING, I say will do this book justice.I'm that lost for words, I don't know what to discuss first. I sit here now, my heart in my throat, my blood pumping insanely hard with massive stars in my eyes. Alessandra Torre took me to a DIFFERENT WORLD with this book. I never imagined that Love In Lingerie would be THIS. I mean don't get me wrong I expected heat, rawness and intensity but what I didn't expect was the EPIC FEELS that just surged out of me while reading, burnt through me while reading, tugged at the DEPTHS OF MY SOUL while reading.EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING was right. So utterly perfect. So CONSUMING.Love in Lingerie is fire and ice, a deep, delectable push and pull through give and take, lust and love, dominance and submission, and not even in the way you'd think.Alessandra's portrayal of ‘him’ and ‘her’ was written so fluidly, so flawlessly, so exciting. As individuals they were classy, captivating characters that you cannot help but fall for, from her strong, sexy persona to his deliciously, dirty, masculine rawness, I fell hard and fast.Though together, together was when the magic happened. Together they oozed connection, one that you felt deep in your bones. Together they had a chemistry so fierce. Together they crackled like a burning flame, so hot and so bright. Together they BLEW ME AWAY.As a lover of the ‘friends to lovers’ trope, Love In Lingerie was like a drug. An inescapable high that I wanted, needed, craved and drowned in. There are NO WORDS to fully describe how perfectly this trope was done. Alessandra NAILED it. I felt it, I lived it, I LOVED IT! The relationship, the dynamic, the intensity, the worry, the heartbreak, the good, the bad and the ugly, all done to perfection.I honestly think I could sit here all day and tell you how utterly amazing Love In Lingerie was, IS. But I also urge you to dive into this book, putting everything else aside and just going along for the ride. Because you WILL lose yourself, you WILL fall in love, you will NEVER want it to end, you WILL want to devour it and go slow all at the same time. But most of all, past everything else you WILL feel nothing but PURE BOOKWORM BLISS when you have finished.

Beautiful story of love and friendship
This is a brilliant story of two people who have feelings for each other, but cannot do anything about itThe story is told over the space of three years and during that time, both Kate and Trey try to maintain their friendship and their working relationship and stop it from developing into a romantic one. This is a story of true love blossoming between two people who are torn between revealing their feelings for each other or remaining friends.I loved this story. I loved how strong and feisty Kate was. She was more than a match for Trey, at every turn. Trey was a mixture of fun, serious business owner and dominant friend. He had his hard, dominant business side and a softer, caring side.

Light, quick read but not the author's best. Ms Torre seems to be on an unstoppable high speed freight train of churning out novels. She does indeed have a lovely writing style (which is why I keep buying) but the depth and complexity of her earlier novels has gone. I felt the slow-burn element in this novel was just too slow (and at points unbelievable) and then when they finally do come together we're almost at the end, so let's chuck in a couple of 'six months later/epilogue chapters to round it off. I realise I am in the minority but when you know what a novelist is capable of and then see what they currently choose to churn out, it feels such a waste of her undoubted writing talent.

Fun and sexy!
Love In Lingerie is the first book I've read by Alessandra Torre and I loved it. Kate a creative director is hired by Trey Marks to save his ailing business Marks Lingerie, it's clear from the start that there's an attraction between these two but Trey makes it clear from the start that he doesn't sleep with his employees and making the business a success again is more important. Isn't it? The story line is excellent and although Trey and Kate don't get together until near the end, there's enough going on to keep the story exciting. The characters are great although when Kate finds out Trey's secret I thought her reaction was a bit over the top and a tad judgmental, she did redeem herself in the end however. Yeah! I highly recommend this fun and sexy read you won't be disappointed.
