What is the difference btwn the ka500 & the ka500ip?

Kaito claims this new version has a 2x better rechargeable battery and larger solar panel. I would not say the two models are the same.

My iPhone will not fit included adaptor for charging. Is there a specific one for it?

I don't know but Amazon still owes me and a/c adapter for radio so I can't keep answering these questions until they send it as promised.

What rechargable battery does it use?

At the heart of the KA500IP, there is an internal generator that charges the internal replaceable Ni-MH battery pack and powers the radio. You will also need 3 AA batteries that are not included.
