Columbian#10 Business Envelopes, Self-Seal, Security Tinted, Non-Window, 4-1/8" x 9-1/2", 500 Per Box, White (COLO145)

Good envelopes. It prevents you from having to run to Staples/Office Depot/Office Max/Walmart to go and buy some envelopes. Believe it or not, I spent about 30 minutes reading reviews on which one was better than the other. After 30 minutes, I gave in to these guys. It's a clean box, heavy duty paper and had the least negative reviews about the adhesive. They have worked great for my weekly expense reports, bill payments and occasional letters sent. I do double-check to see that the adhesive will stay each time and have been surprised to see that they work quite well. If 1/4" extra adhesive was added to each end of this, 5-stars all the way. There is just something about the ability to lift the corner of an envelope open that I do not like.

I had anticipated envelopes identical to the Columbian No. 10 GRIP-SEAL SECURITY 24lb inside security ink 75503 that typically comes 500/box in a heavy green box. I expected a cheaper box, which this is. I did not expect lesser envelopes, which these seem to be.1. The grip seal. The Columbian envelopes I expected say "Columbian Grip Seal" across the removable strip. These do not. Not a big deal, except the Columbian strip is secured flat against the envelope, so it moves nicely through my printer. These envelopes have a cheap strip with wrinkles that I doubt will provide a consistent printer quality. In fairness, I have run a couple envelopes through and haven't had a problem.2. The security ink. The Columbian Grip Seal I expected have a bluish-purple random ink printing pattern on the inside of the envelope and flap. These envelopes have a lighter blue random ink pattern with fewer and larger little marks on inside of the envelope only, not the flap - less secure (but probably adequate).3. The cut. The Columbian Grip Seal I expected have about a 100 degree corner on the edge of the flap. These have a rounded flap. I don't care about the flap edge geometry, but it is different from what I expected.4. No branding on envelope. Columbian Grip Seal envelopes have always had the mark "Columbian Grip Seal" on the removable strip. There is no branding anywhere but a sticker on the outside of the box.The deviations from my expectations lead me to question whether I did indeed receive Columbian Grip Seal envelopes at all. These are ok envelopes, but I sought out Columbian Grip Seal because they are the best I could find. These are not that. Had I known these would be what I received, I would not have ordered them. But, I think they will probably work so I don't intend to return.

I operate a small e-commerce site producing QR code labels. These are a perfect all around envelope to ship my labels out in. The size will accommodate a lot of labels or additional documents. The security lining prevents unwanted viewing of contents. Best of all the self sticking label. I would not be a happy camper if I had to lick envelopes or use sponges all day to ship out my products.

This year, for a mass mailing for our school fundraiser, I was determined not to have to deal with glue, water, and pressing. These envelopes made the mailing much easier. They are easy to deal with and the privacy liner is a good addition. They went through my Canon laser printer just fine. I gave them four rather than five stars because the adhesive is a little weak -- though making handling easier -- so a few that were pressed closed without an extra burnishing swipe opened up, and because the paper could be a little whiter and more opaque. Best envelopes I've found overall for mailings!

Occasionally I misread the description of products that I'm buying, and wind up with more or fewer of an item than I thought I was getting, or it's a different size, or I couldn't quite visualize the dimensions, etc.I am now the proud owner of way more envelopes than I will ever use. At least they're good quality envelopes!

I've been through thousands of these. The peel and stick feature is what makes them stand out.They are the Colombian envelops in plain packaging.I've been through enough of them that I can say Buy Them! Without reservation.Uncle Gruesome

These are a good value, but I would like them better if they had more adhesive on the flap, or better placement of the adhesive.The adhesive strip is about 1/4" wide by 7-1/2" long and is placed about 1/2" down from the top of the flap and not the same distance from the right and left sides of the flap. One side of the flap has adhesive about 1" away from edge and the other about 3/4" away from the edge. I add an adhesive tab to each side of the flap before sealing.The envelopes are heavy enough to suit me, but just Okay because of the adhesive.

The envelope is a little on the thin side but serves it purpose for mass mailings. While other reviews stated issues with the adhesive, I have had none. I do make sure to press firmly along the edge each time.
