Q: will it work on green water algae

No. It works on algae growing on rocks and sides of ponds.

Q: Is this product safe for wildlife? And can i still use beneficial bacteria along with this? thanks!

Ecoblast is safe for your fish, but the label states it is toxic to birds. I only use it as a last resort - when my streams are completely overtaken with string algae, usually just once a season. I have birds that bathe/drink from my water feature, but I have yet to find a product that works as well as this one. It does not harm my plant life, either. I do use beneficial bacteria at regular intervals and usually wait a day or two before starting that back up, but that is just my personal preference.

Q: Is it safe for birds?

This product is definitely safe for birds. I have been using it for about ten years to clean my pondless waterfall. It gets rid of the algae (it takes about a half day after turning back on my waterfall for the algae to dissolve) and it has not affected the many birds who drink from the waterfall.

Q: Will this product kill my pond benefitial bacterials? Also, how do i use this product to treat string algea on the side walls of my pond?

follow directions and should not change balance of bacteria. sprinkle granules directly on string algae areas.
