Great iron!
Iron heats up right away. Love the color and that it stands up nicely without wobbling. This is my second one. The first one still works brilliantly but wanted a second iron for my other sewing station. I got this one cheaper since it must have been returned by someone. It was a great price - too much to resist! The weight is good and the size is perfect for home use. It glides smoothly over fabric and love the steam features.

BEST IRON FOR SEWING
I sew bags, purses, and clothes. A dependable hot steam iron is an absolute necessity. For my last iron, I had a great little cordless iron. Only problem is it wouldn't get or stay quite hot enough, even though it had plenty of steam. My new Oliso in sunny yellow (yay!) gets REALLY hot. Hot enough to use on 100% cotton and actually get all the wrinkles out. It also has plenty of steam. I have noticed that it steams better when I keep the water filled close to the maximum level marked conveniently on the iron, so I keep it pretty full. I like the little filling cup it came with. I keep a gallon jug of tap water in my sewing room and pour it into the filling cup, which makes it super easy to get it into the iron with no spills. I live where the water is fairly hard, but tap water works great in this iron. I have occasionally seen it "spit" out little tiny pieces of what I assume is calcium from the hard water, but that is rare, and easily brushed off. Most irons I've ever owned have done this. One very good thing is that it NEVER leaks. I was lucky to get it at 20% off during Amazon days, but I would have bought it at full price if I had to. It works really well and I am glad I have it. Oh - almost forgot the best feature! I LOVE how it goes up and down at just a touch of my hand! If I'm ironing and have to stop, I can just let go of it and it rises up off of the fabric. No scorching, ever! And talk about convenience! When I take it off whatever I'm ironing, I just slide it to one side and let go. I don't have to lift it up and set it on its heel (although it will sit on its heel if you want it to). This is the best iron I've ever owned and I would recommend it to anyone.

Oliso makes a great iron!
This is my second Oliso. My first one lasted 10 years. I tried the Panasonic cordless and didn’t like it. The Oliso gets very hot and I’ve always lived that it lifts off the table when you let go of it. The only thing I wish they hadn’t changed is the elimination of the on off switch. The light on the iron stays on no matter what and you have to unplug it to get it to turn off. I don’t like that. If the iron is completely off the light should not be on. But the performance of the iron is great. I don’t put water in my irons; I know a lot of people do but I just keep a misting bottle on my ironing station. I think it extends the life of the iron.

Oliso— NOT WORTH IT
I purchased an Oliso iron for approximately $200 and expected a quality product backed by a reliable warranty. Unfortunately, a little over a year later, the iron stopped working completely. I contacted customer service and followed all of their troubleshooting steps. When those efforts were unsuccessful, I was told that the iron was still under warranty and that a replacement could be provided. I was asked to send photos and was instructed to cut the power cord to disable the iron. Before throwing it away, I wanted to understand what had caused the failure. As a business owner myself, I know how valuable customer feedback can be in identifying product issues and improving future designs. My husband opened the iron, and we found burned wires and a blackened area inside that appeared to be the source of the problem. I sent photos to Oliso, believing I was helping them identify a potential defect that could affect other customers. To my surprise, I was then told that because the iron had been opened, the warranty was void and the replacement would no longer be honored. I was informed that this restriction was contained in the warranty’s fine print. I never opened the iron to repair it, alter it, or make a warranty claim I wasn’t entitled to. I opened it only after being told a replacement would be provided and after being instructed to cut the power cord. My intention was simply to understand the failure and provide useful information to the company. While I understand that companies have policies, I believe customer service should also consider the circumstances. Instead, I was left with a broken $200 iron and no resolution. Based on my experience, I am disappointed in both the product and the way this warranty claim was handled.

An excellent iron for quilters
Yes, it's expensive, but the benefits, for me anyway, outweigh the cost. A number of features are attractive. The way it elevates itself when not being touched maintains the heat on the plate but does not scorch the ironing surface. Furthermore, it is much easier to just let go of it in a horizontal position, and to us it again, then it is to turn it up on the end. It holds a very large capacity of water alleviating the inconvenience of frequent refills. This iron is very hot. Ironing our various bolt wrinkles, and especially the mid-fold crease is easy and quick. I recommend this tool for any experienced quilter. Just a note on the silicone holder. It will not withstand heat even after unplugging. The iron has to be completely cool before hanging the iron on the wall. It's handy for wall storage when not in use, but the iron will dislodge if not fully cooled.

Heats quickly
It's a great iron, it pops up when you take your hand off, turns it self off if not use quickly, but as soon as you put you hand on the handle,it starts heating. Less likely to fall off the ironing board due to standing.

Love this iron!
This iron is a joy to use. I got the pink version and it’s just the prettiest iron ever. The lifter feet are amazing and didn’t take very long to get used to (leaving it in the horizontal position). It gets very hot and is a nice weight. I am keeping this as a dry iron to make it hopefully last longer. Just keep a spray bottle of water nearby if steam is needed. The cord is looong which is great. I haven’t noticed any scorching of my ironing board from the iron being lifted, but I recommend turning the iron off if you will not be using it for awhile, just to be safe. It heats back up again fairly quickly so you’re not waiting too long. The sole plate is very smooth and glides nicely. I haven’t noticed any build up yet so I can’t say how easy it will be to clean. Perhaps the tip could be a bit pointier, as it is only rounded, but it still works to open seams flat. It is a large iron, so it’s great for pressing yardage and long seams. I also have the mini version, which is better for the inside of bags and smaller projects. Obviously, you need to keep your hand on the handle otherwise it will lift up. There is no option to turn off the auto lift (a feature that was on previous versions). This means that if you want to leave the iron in one spot for a really good press you can’t remove your hand like on a regular iron. That’s a bit annoying, but I’ll get used to it. There is a silicone sole protector available, but it’s sold separately, which is kind of lame for such an expensive iron. I will probably purchase it in the future just to have and to protect the sole plate should it somehow get knocked off the ironing board. I love that this iron is available on Amazon for a pretty good price and is Prime shipped. The cost to buy from Oliso in the US is astronomical, especially once taxes and shipping are added. If you’ve been on the fence about this iron, I’d say go for it!

Great iron!
I recently purchased the Oliso TG1600 Pro Plus SmartIron and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The 1800 watt power provides a fast and efficient ironing experience, making even the toughest wrinkles disappear in no time. What sets this iron apart from others is the Auto Lift feature which raises the iron off the surface when not in use, preventing scorching and providing a safer experience. The steam controls are intuitive and easy to use, and the adjustable steam output allows me to customize the amount of steam to suit my needs. The iron heats up quickly and the temperature is consistent throughout use, providing professional-level results every time. The soleplate glides smoothly over my clothes, preventing any snagging or pulling, and the built-in water tank ensures that I never run out of steam in the middle of ironing. Overall, I highly recommend the Oliso TG1600 Pro Plus SmartIron to anyone looking for a top-of-the-line ironing experience. With its powerful performance, innovative design, and user-friendly features, it's a 5-star product that truly delivers.

Never go wrong with Oliso
Good quality iron. I love the sensor that raises and lowers the feet. This is my second Oliso iron. The last one I purchased was 10 years ago at Costco roadshow. The foot sensor feature is useful. Makes ironing easier especially for ironing for quilt piecing and other sewing projects. One tip...the raised feet prevent burning but over time the the ironing board cover will scorch just because there still is heat building underneath even though not in direct contact . The fabric can't help but scorch because hot iron still sits over samd spot when not in use. I put a silicone iron mat to protect the ironing board cover. Still better than tilting your iron after each pressing.
