9 yr. old is obsessed

My 9 year old is hooked on these things and creates his own battle maps with trees and pieces of felt. He plays for hours, pretty much daily. I don't understand it, but wasn't looking for an alternative to video games (he loves world of tanks). He has learned a lot of history from these cards and tanks and is always telling me about them and contemplating which ones he needs next and why.

My son loves these tanks! He is an avid student of WWII vehicles (aircraft, tanks, ships, etc.). Just a warning for those who've not had experience with this scale: These tanks are really quite small.
