5 star and highly recommended
It works flawlessly. It plugs directly into the port on the back of the ps2. The hdmi cable then goes from the adapter to the TV hdmi port. I have mine running into a multi hdmi selector and it still works the same. This adapter provides the best possible picture quality for the ps2 that I have seen. Trust me, I've done my homework. The two adapters I received were identical and appeared to be quality made. I cannot attest for anyone that may have received a defective product, mine certainly was not. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get the most out of their ps2 video quality.Review Update: I have owned this adapter for several months now. It performs flawlessly. I am seeing other reviewers saying theirs doesn't work at all and some claim that there are fake 4 and 5 star reviews on this thing. I can assure you mine is not a fake review. I would challenge those people to double check one particular thing. They may not be connecting the usb power cable that plugs into the usb port on the ps2 and then plugs into the converter. I see a lot of questions about this and people seem to be confused by this. Having that usb cable plugged in is vital. This could be the problem for some and maybe not. Maybe there are people getting a defective product. My converter was not defective. I also wouldn't want to insult anyone else honesty or intelligence. I have to say the picture quality I'm experiencing is a sharper cleaned up image with crystal clarity.

So far, really happy with it
I got it almost a week ago and is working great so far on my ps2 slim. I did have a problem with one of my games not working, but that might not be the device's fault because I have a game older than that one that works perfectly (both ps2 games). Did not need the cord that came with it, so I don't know if that's just something you need for certain models, since others in the reviews needed the cord.Overall, it seems good. I had a problem with a few of my older ps2 games looking really fuzzy on my hdtv to the point it was hard to read with the component cord, but now that's no longer an issue. I've seen a couple reviews of it stopping to work after a while so if it does, I'll update my review, but I'm hoping out doesn't because I love it so far.Update: still works great and it's been a couple months. The one game that didn't work before now works with it fine so no idea what that was about.

Does not work
This is an update of my review. Mine still does not work. I opened it up to see if I just paid just paid for an empty plastic case. I didn't, it has a lot of defects though. The white spots on the board that you can see in the pictures are debris from when the boards were cut apart to make these tiny units. The debris got stuck into the coating of the board, probably because the coating was not dry yet. Once the components were soldered onto the PCB, the portions of the BUS lines were warped and damaged. I carefully scraped the debris off of the board while using a magnifying glass to make sure that I was being thorough. There were several areas that I found on the board that are also damaged, but are too tiny for my camera to take a good photograph of.NICE TECH would save a lot of money by drying their boards completely before cutting them into segments, and then running them under a vacuum and a brush a few times before soldering the components. 21% of terrible reviews should not be acceptable for a companies products.Unfortunately I have to get a new soldering iron to try to repair this because the one I was given does not work lol. There is also a portion of the board that has bus lines running to four I/O pinholes that has nothing there. It has an outline printed onto it indicated that it is designed to have something there. So I do not know if this board was even completed. It may be complete. If it is, then I am pretty sure that I COULD repair it by soldering wire to skip over the damaged portions of bus lines. But right now I am looking to buy something that does what this is supposed to, but made by a different company. The good part is that the design looks good.

Bom.
