Q: Do these have an ability to lock when they are closed? The last set I purchased opens up on my key chain---OUCH

I wouldn't carry these in your pocket. They are a simple and elegant low tech, low cost solution to opening a can. Safety isn't a high priority in the design. In a pocket they can open up enough to rip clothing or give you a nasty jab when you're fishing around in your pocket. For that same reason, I never wore one on my dog tag chain. I second the idea from Russell T. Ball here of sticking a P-38 or P-51 in your wallet. Or, they are so cheap just buy 10 and put one in each car's center console, a kitchen drawer, your backpacking cook set, etc.

Q: Where are these made??

I do not know, but since they are stamped " US MILITARY CO", I would assume in the USA. They are larger than those I used when the service, but that has been over 40 years. I carry one on my keychain ALWAYS. Quite useful. Glad I bought them.

Q: Does this contain lead? I ordered a couple from another seller and they came with a lead warning. Not something I want to use with food.

These can openers are made of steel. However, there may be trace amounts of lead that requires warning labels pursuant to California Proposition 65. However, this labeling is only required in California. Since sellers cannot control which inventory sent to Amazon Fulfillment Centers to be "Fulfilled by Amazon" is sent to customers in California vs. Elsewhere, we label all units in accordance with California's Proposition 65. I would also note that we, Best Glide ASE, are entirely EXEMPT from California's Proposition 65 labeling requirements. Nevertheless, we do so as a gesture of good will.

No! When you order P-51s from Best Glide ASE, you get P-51s.
