LongStar 00196 - FE-G40-23W/27K Globe Screw Base Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb

Don't expect more than 1 year service from this bulb. I have been using this Longstar model for several years . Purchased 2 that burned out immediately. By the time you pay the return shipping the cost is a wash. Other brands have the same complaint. There appears to be no method to get warranty because the seller usually has a 90 day return policy and no method for warranty returns after that time period. I would like to find a LED replacement. This is a really bad bulb, and should be sighted for false labeling because of the low life, less than 2000 hours. The reason that I continue to use them, low heat output, correct color temperature, a warm glow and seemingly for now no replacement, also a prisoner of style - a regular CFL is just not pretty. .

Life expectancy unknown. Some last a week and some for a year. None meed the hour specification advertised. Attractive, give off good light. Not much competition, and none made in the USA. What can I say.

This light is kind of pretty. I have it in a socket in my utility room that doesn't have a shade or globe, its just an exposed socket hanging down. This bulb looks a lot better than an exposed incandescent or cfl and it doesn't hurt your eyes to look at it. I only give it four stars though because it takes a minute to get to 100% brightness.
