The Book of Destinies: Discover the Life You Were Born to Live

I've purchased The Book of Destinies 3 times now (2 sent out as gifts) - and in full disclosure, I want to shout out that I am a long-time personal friend of both Chetan and Carola's. That being said because I have a deep background in knowing them, their common and human nature and frailties, and this combined with their extraordinary abilities to see, to insight and to inspire lives as both long-time meditators and well-versed researcher/practitioners in the development and growth of the human psyche. The Book of Destinies is, for me, akin to the Zenning out all the information I have grocked from years of study and application with Chetan's other first books - Human Design and The Book of Lines. Human Design - Chetan's way - by its very nature has a bright, complex beam of light that pierces thru to uncomplicated understanding of one's Self and Calling in the world. This is because Chetan's nature itself reflects like a prism lens that is the natural light of being that is one, and that gets split into clear individual colors, once is passes thru. This is a rare quality to find in any person who is working with psyche, (mind, soul and heart) as a matrix for counseling about the value of knowing how to read your inner compass in a wilderness such as can be our modern lives. As well, both he and Carola are native clear intuitives as foundation to their science-minded realms of study and writing on Human Design. Perhaps the most powerful and valuable quality in Chetan is his deep and lengthy years of meditation and meditative living (in India with Osho, Japan, Hawai'i, California and more) that has drawn him into his own sense and self-mastery - really culminated in The Book of Destinies. I don't have anything to do with any counseling, readings, advice-givers, even teachers of subject or the Way who do not have two in-burned lights of their own - meditative awareness and loving kindness. These qualities are where this book's author(s) come from - and is rare in this McMindfulness society we are surrounded by. The Book of Destinies itself resonates with what I know as my own True North - that I have found on my own, along with the unbelievable fortunate 'destiny' itself of traveling and living with the Zen Master and Mystic Osho as well. In this book, not only are details supplied as to insights into my own mind's workings, and subsequent behavior, but such reflections act as great reminders and validations from my own experience - allowing me to be better informed in my own sharing and interactions with friends, lovers, family and 'others.' This is including the Earth, the Moon and the Sun and the Animals and Flowers and Birds and Waters and Air and Fire that accompany me in this life. Chetan's sense of humor is only exceeded by his generosity found in the information given in this book (and the other 2) - and all of that really lends to anyone who steps up to know themselves deeply in their interiority in order to be a blessing to themselves and to the world exterior. There are a gaggle of "A-Ha!"'s waiting for the reader of The Book of Destinies as you ply your way along nurturing your own self-awareness and wellbeing.

Chetan is an adept master of Human Design. He has a simple, clear way of making the brilliant insight that Ra taught. I also studied with Ra decades ago but found his teaching/knowledge overwhelming, confusing, complex and confounding and left ME reeeeeeeeling even though I recognized that what he was offering us was like a human’s “owner’s manual” which up until now had never been known before….I just couldn’t grasp it then. Chetan has a most remarkable ability to “download” this amazing and helpful system to “simpler minds” like mine. I highly recommend this and each of his trilogy of books.

I'm not sure if there's a better book out there with descriptions for each of the life themes, so with that this is a great resource. Some of the readings I thought were a little short especially because a lot of it was repetitive in the first paragraph or two compared to other themes of the same number. But regardless I think it's a useful resource but I would be interested to know if there is something better available. The cake table of contents goes over each Life theme and it is organized by number, first personal then fix then interpersonal. It's not organized by category example defiance or wishes or consciousness. I also believe this author made up his own unique names for some of the life themes which I found a little confusing comparing to other resources.

This has been so helpful. Finding information on Incarnation Crosses is so tricky. Some readers seem to even lack deep understanding of the crosses. At first I was disappointed that the information on my cross was only one page (They're all one page. There are 192 basic crosses.), but upon reading and re-reading I have found it to be so accurate and so profound. Chetan and Carola have really distilled the essence of these crosses from their years of Human Design work, and I appreciate this book sooo much. It is also providing a key to understanding family members, famous figures of the day, and friends. It resonates so well for me. I think it's an invaluable tool towards knowing and living as your Self.

Great book, offers different insights on human design

I like the pictures and I know there is a science behind it, but I have an older "I Ching" and I found it more informative than this book.

The Book of Destinies is a deep dive into one of the lesser known aspects of Human Design. It is an invaluable tool for understanding and living your life theme. I learned that mine is the interpersonal life theme of Defiance. It rings true for me since I've always been a bit of a rebel, and initially I felt some shame about it until I read the Chetan's explanation. He said that breaking with the status quo allows me to introduce more authenticity and creativity into the world--to be an agent of transformation through my "profound inner connection with my Higher Self". YaY!!! That feels good. And I checked out my husband's LIfe Theme as well. His is a personal life theme of Rulership. And you might expect that to be a challenge for a defiant character like me. But as it turns out, discovering his innate tendency to be a leader in all things and that he has the wisdom to see the broad view, has enabled me to trust his solutions and follow his lead in most things that give me the gut check OK. This book is so full of insights into the deepest aspects of our personal life path and inter-relationships. In typical Chetan and Carola style, it's written with great humor and compassion for our sometimes meandering and often ironic human journey

Dommage ça avait l'air intéressant et je ne comprends la politique d'amazon de nous forcer la main comme ils le font avec leur Kindle

You can read this book as a companion volume to ‘Human Design for us all’, which gives a general – and thorough – introduction to the system. Or you can read it on its own; it gives a brief explanation of the main Human Design elements, and then focuses on the one which tells us about our destiny. Chetan calls it our life theme. There are 192 of them, which one is yours depends on the position of the sun when you were born. Just like in astrology, your birthday decides which life theme you have. Chetan writes in a clear style, which makes it simple to read and assimilate this profound material. The book is well laid out, and it has the same format and cover design as its predecessors. The books look nice together in your bookshelf. It’s available as a Kindle edition too. One remark: the inside of the book is black and white, which makes the graphic accompanying each life theme difficult to understand. On the positive side, it has brought down the price.
