Very good quality! I love it!

I purchased this small mixing bowl, with a flat bottom, to use when mixing eggs, since the reaction of eggs to copper makes them rise more in baking. Unfortunately the bowl has a finish to keep it from tarnishing, so the eggs don't actually touch the copper. The directions imply that if you put it in the dishwasher, it may tarnish, so I'm going to hope that that degrades the finish. Would love this bowl more if it were a natural copper finish. At this point, I'm going to hold off on purchasing the larger one until I see if I can solve this challenge. Otherwise, it is heavyweight, and very stable, a good small size mixing bowl.

This is a gorgeous solid copper bowl. It is fairly small at 6" in diameter and about 3" tall. The volume is just under one quart (it holds 3 3/4 cups of water when filled to the brim). It is quite heavy for its size and has a thick, robust base and sturdy sides that curve up to end in a rolled lip. The copper is polished to a beautiful smooth finish inside and out. I have a couple of large, round-bottomed copper bowls that I use for whipping egg whites or making meringue. This one is a more manageable size for everyday use and I really like the flat bottom. This bowl will be great for whisking scrambled eggs and omelettes (they come out extra fluffy). Of course, the bowl is very versatile and can be used for many other purposes as well, but preparing eggs was my main reason for ordering it. I have some open shelves in my kitchen and I'll have to find a spot on one of them for my new copper bowl as it is just too lovely to put away in the cupboard. The bowl came in a nice box suitable for gifting -- the box is fun to open as there is a red ribbon inside to pull out a drawer that holds the bowl nestled inside. The box would be nice for storage, too. The current price of $39.99 seems very reasonable for a copper bowl of this quality. I think it would make a great gift for someone that likes to cook or bake. I am impressed with the Cuyahoga Copper brand and would definitely be interested in other products in this line; in fact, I just asked Santa for the 8" version of this bowl!

I love the look of copper, and though I don't use it for cooking, I love having accent pieces made with copper. This sturdy bowl is simple in design, yet so eye-catching! It's just right for dressing up a table with some small fruits interspersed with dried flowers, and is sure to get compliments.This bowl comes in a sturdy and attractive box with clear instructions of it's required care, and would make a stunning and memorable gift! Mine came well packaged and without any flaws, and I would be excited to give another to someone I cared for.If you wanted to use it for cooking, the sturdy base would make it a great choice. It would certainly be a show-stopper if filled with a tasty dessert or snacks! These are the first copper bowls we have owned, both the 6 and 8 inch. They are beautiful and expertly made. They are heavy weight, pure copper, very beautifully crafted, and flawless. They are great serving bowls and the warm, radiant copper is very eye-catching. We love them! The flat bottom provides a sturdy base whether mixing or serving. Just note that copper is one of the more reactive metals, and you should avoid really salty or acidic foods which would react with it. There are lots of good articles on copper kitchenware care, cleaning, and polishing. These are definitely heirloom quality, and should last a lifetime.
