Been using these bags for years both for very heavy stuff (demolition trash) and light stuff that tends to break bags (tree trimming, for instance).... They've always been reliable. The bags are thick, no question, but they are not flexible, so they can break, especially from things that have pointy edges..... I've found that they hold up even when something pokes through them --- at least enough so that a second bag can be brought in. Regardless of uses, I've NEVER had the bottom of one fall out or have a bag completely fail when lifted with heavy stuff --- even if something pokes through the sides (not the bottom).As for the ties..... I don't find them reliable & don't use them.... The types of stuff these bags are designed for would not be held in with twist-ties. Expect to have to tie the bag and expect it to put up a fight (thick and slippery makes for difficult tying).
