Clips To Bike Bags! Bright, Multiple Settings. Day Use Too.
I liked everything about this lite, but, wanted something brighter. I had originally, two weeks ago, purchased the 200 Lumen taillight in the same brand. But, when it got here, it did not have a true hard clip to attach to my seat bag. So, sadly, I sent that one back. That 200 however, was crazy bright. I loved it. It saddened to me to have to return it. But, I definitely love my seat bag. My new taillight needed to clip to that. Liking that brand so much and the style of the light, I took a chance and ordered the 100. This 100 Lumen Taillight is half the Lumen brightness of the 200, but it still seems extremely bright and has all the same setting features. But today, right after receiving it, I noticed this same company does now have a 200 Lumen WITH a Hard Clip that will attach to my seat bag. So, I returned the unused 100 and have the 200 HARD CLIP on order. Synopsis: Depending on your budget, I don't think you can go wrong with the 100 Lumen for the price. It seems as though it would still be highly visible at night and day. Has the same features. Is easy to use and to clip on. Very visible. For almost $20 more, you can have one twice as bright. Both, however should make day and or night riding safer. For me, price not being a huge factor today, I opted for the brighter light. If I had never had that 200 in the past, I would not have known any difference and would have happily kept the 100.

Awesome light!
This tail light is very bright and a real bargain at about $30. I have been using the original hotshot for a couple of years and found it to be a great light for day or night. Recently, some friends were riding about a 1/2 mile behind me and could see my flashing light ahead. I believe it to be 30 lumens. This new light is very noticeably brighter. I sat them out on the bumper of my truck and went to the end of my street, more than 2/10s of mile away. Both lights a very visible in mid day sun from this distance but the 100 lumen light is much better. It will really get people's attention and what I want is to grab their view from as far away as possible. In this day and age of more and more idiots on the road who can't put their phones down, you need something they can't miss when they occasionally look at the road. This light will do that. I see so many people with weak lights that are barely visible from more than a 100 feet and I think, why bother. It come with a clip on the back to mount onto a seat bag or some other loop. It also slides into a included round seat post mount or seat stay mount. The mounts only work on round parts though. This is the only drawback for me as it will not mount on non-round parts. I would personally prefer a rubber strap mount that some other lights come with. It charges with mini USB. Some have made a big deal about this but it is no factor for me as I have other lights and my Garmin also use mini USB. If you want to be seen, and the mounting limitations are not a problem for you, then this is the tail light to get.

One of the brightest, relatively good battery
I bought the same light about 10 years ago and it still works as new. Brightness and battery life is still one of the best on the market even after years of abuse in all sorts of weather exposure, which is very impressive. So, I decided to get a new one for my second bike. Received it and sadly, it was DOA. Did not work at all. That happens... Vendor said to deal directly with Amazon, so I did. Amazon sent a replacement promptly, and that one works just fine. However, although it looks exactly identical as my old one, the battery life seems to be not quite as good for some reason. That's why the star rating is reflected accordingly for this review. I am suspecting that the difference in battery life is due to a change in supplier, and when considering that battery is made of chemicals, it's understandable from a technical perspective that not all have the same performance over the years, since chemical batteries are like a fine-tuned recipe with specific ingredients. Either that, or it's that the electronics running the system is using chips that consume more energy, which I don't believe is a plausible cause. Indeed, transistors nowadays are more efficient than ever so I doubt they're the culprit. It could also be that they've adjusted the logics which control the battery charge, potentially in response to people always demanding quicker charging times. The faster a battery charges, the more mediocre the performance will be. While this is a bit absurd, since the gain in charging time is really negligible, it could explain why the battery life does not last quite as long. But again, this is speculation. I'm not sure how else to explain it from an engineering perspective. I highly doubt they're using lesser quality components, there would be zero benefit (not even in manufacturing costs). Overall, I'm still recommending this light because, although not super cheap, it's still probably one of the very best on the market. And if you are concerned about your safety on the road, then you cannot compromise and that one will serve your expectations quite well.

Very Bright even in daylight
I have two of these bright LED flashers for myself and my wife. The increase in visibility to street traffic is enormous over the old incandescent type. Attention getters even in the brightest sunlight and will hurt your eyes if looking directly into them, I would not want anything brighter. It also has adjustments for flash frequency, flash pattern and also a steady light mode which is dimmable. Being able to dim is especially handy on dark bike trails so as not to blind the guy behind you. We typically ride 4-6 hours and I have yet to run out of battery, experiment a little with flash patterns for optimum battery life. I purchased the optional screw on mounts for easy bolt on attachment to our bike carriers. Really glad we have them, feel much safer knowing we can more readily be seen on the road. Great product!

Great daytime light
I have tried multiple rear bike lights, and none of them did really satisfy me for daytime rides. This one however is great! I also like it that you can change the speed of the 'blink'. Also, it mounts really well to your bike, it is not going to move and I like it that you can tilt the light so it is straight while my seat post has an angle. I was first thinking of getting the 150 lumnes, but this one is bright enough. The only minus is that the charging connector is the fatter old type usb, mini USB, so not micro or C, so I have to have another cable at my 'charging bank'. I guess this model has been around for some time. As I have just gotten this light so can't say anything about how it holds up over time, in the rain, or battery endurance. You can read the other reviews for that :-).

BRIGHT, BRIGHT light that can be seen during the day....but battery life questionable.
I really like this tail light. Brighter than any other that I have purchased. I mounted this on my bikes left rear seat stay and with the flexibility of the mount, I pointed it directly back so it wasn't at an angle. As if I didn't already know, my riding buddies told me how BRIGHT it was and easily seen during the day. That's what I like about it - it is bright enough for car drivers to see during the day. The one thing I am not completely happy about is the battery life. My normal rides are 3.5 to 4 hours. In flashing mode, on one ride, I found the battery ran out and the light was not working, and I had charged it full the night before. According to the doc, that is not supposed to happen in any flashing mode. Other than that, the tail light is great.

Died in less than a year
I took a shot and it seems I got the luck of many other reviewers. I would love to give this product more than 1 star because WHEN IT WORKED it was great. It is extremely bright, it has many strobe selections, and the battery was pretty good. I would only have to charge it once a week and I would use it about 4 hours a week for my commute. The reason that this product gets 1 star is because of the quality issues that many buyers have had. Mine will not hold a charge (on an outdated MIcro USB) and I have used it for less than 100 hours in 1 year. When I plug the unit in, it lights up blindingly red as if it is in use on the back of my bike. I leave it on the charger for hours and it does not hold the charge. It is almost as if it is stuck in the on mode while charging, using the wall power only as direct power as opposed to charging the battery. I have tried troubleshooting this to no avail. I would never buy this product again. It was hard for me to pay $30 in the first place, but I thought it would be a great product. I have cheapo $15 no name brand rear lights that work great and that I have had to put back on my bikes since this one failed. I thought that the Cygolite would be an upgrade because of the brightness, but it also seemed to be too bright. I have a Cygolite headlight that works great and I love it. If a friend or acquaintance ever asks for a rear light recommendation, I will specifically tell them to NEVER by a Cygolite for rear lights.

Worth every penny!
As far as I know, this is about the only brand of light that can be attached to the seat stays (essential if you have a saddle bag) as the bracket can be adjusted to the correct angle. It's also very small, light and exceedingly bright! The range of modes is a bit of a gimmick though.

Blindingly bright
I love these lights because I know everyone can see me. When people I know drive past me on the street, they later complain about how bright the light is. Tip: if you want it bright, choose the gradual blink setting so you don't become a blinding strobe light. They also work longer at -40 than other lights I have used. One thing to watch out for is the battery. Do not let it completely die or it might never hold a decent charge again. That is why I bought this light, because my last one was barely lasting a day of commuting after the battery depleted itself while being unused during the summer.
