Works pretty good

My 83 year old dad has dementia and doesn’t let us sleep. He was typically getting only ~3 hours a night. I’ve tried several other brands and doses but it didn’t take any effect on him - and i don’t want to give him RX sleeping pills and make him wear a diaper. I finally switched to this one for extended release and so far so good! Granted, i don’t let him sleep at all during the day so he’ll sleep at night and now he’s been getting at least 6-7 hours of sleep at night.. or should i say i have been! So i am pretty pleased with this purchase.

This works good for me. I do feel groggy in the morning. These are 10mg and when cut in half still work fine. They do work better than other brands l've tried.

I've got a drawer filled with differing versions of melatonin. I don't use this stuff every night, but when I need to get to sleep, some melatonin 20-30 minutes before I want to turn the lights out really works for me if I'm in a comfy environment. (For sleeping on planes, stronger measures, like Ambien, are required). But the thing about melatonin is that it tends to wear off during the night, and you may experience waking up earlier than you want when that happens. This supplement features an extended release formulation of melatonin, which should extend the period during which there is a useful dose in your bloodstream. Extended release formulations are still rather uncommon in the US. So if you tend to have issus with melatonin wearing off, this may be the solution to your problem. Note that for some reason, the manufacturer has also included Glycine in this formulation. Glycine is an essential amino acid that some suggest is useful for relaxation, but the value in that realm is not really proven, and I am not sure why they needed to include it here. That said, it probably won't hurt. Note that this is provided as capsules, not pills, so you can't split them. One pill provides 10mg of melatonin, which is a reasonable dose. A capsule is one dose, so you have 100 doses (nights) in this bottle. This is more expensive than some melatonin supplements, but given the uncommon extended-release formulation, it is worth it for those who will benefit from that attribute.

I got this Solaray Melatonin 10 mg with Glycine, Extended Release, Healthy Sleep Cycle & Calming Relaxation Support, 100 VegCaps in recently to try and help me sleep and it does a good job of it. So I’ve got a big problem falling asleep and staying asleep and when I seen this was extended release I wanted to try it and I’m glad I did. I took this about 15-20 minutes before bed and it normally takes me a long time to fall asleep but with this I feel asleep in about 10 minutes which is excellent for me. I also stayed asleep the majority of the night and again that’s pretty good for me. This has glycine in it which I’ve never taken for sleep purposes but glycine, taken before bedtime and according to the internet helps the body reach deep sleep more quickly. This is why glycine helps you fall asleep and improves sleep quality. I also really like that you get 100 capsules so you get over 3 months worth. The bottle was also sealed air tight as well and the capsules are easy to swallow with no aftertaste. Overall this helps me sleep and your get a bunch of it so I’m pleased. I would recommend this sleep aid
