What are the pins made of?

Hello Rhonda! The Pins are made of a proprietary blend of resins to create the rigidity that is required to style hair and also the smooth surface to make sure there is no snagging. We tried many different materials, and arrived at the perfect solution! The Pins are firm, smooth, and can be dropped onto tile floor with no problem!! They will not break! Live Curly! Lisa

Metals can damage hair, so our pins are made of a proprietary resin blend to give them the necessary tensile strength to style your hair while also not being brittle- so they can survive a drop on the tile floor! The surface area is very small on each pin, and what really shapes the hair is being styled across and around the pins while diffusing.

So this wont do anything for straight hair?

Hi Kelly! The AuBonacci was definitely designed to work on curly hair but can also work to spot style wavy and straight hair at the roots if you don’t want to pull it with a bristle brush. It’s not designed to style the full length of hair or to curl straight hair.

I have wavy, fine, thin hair...will this really work? It's a lot of money to spend on a gadget - particularly if it doesn't work.

I have the same hair type and while it works in a way...it doesn't create frizz the way a bristled round brush does, it is a bit too slick so my fine hair slips through and I have to reposition it. There is some lift but nothing more than what I was doing before. I do not at all think it's worth the price.
