Tiger JAX-S10U-WY 5.5-Cup (Uncooked) Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer, Steamer, and Slow Cooker

I have been using a Tiger rice cooker for a while now, but I’ve been looking to upgrade to a bigger rice cooker. I loved my smaller Tiger, so I ordered this model even though I could not find any reviews for this specific model. I received the 10-Cup Rice cooker only 3 days (without Prime). I have been using the rice cooker for over a week and I have to say, I am very happy with my purchase. The cooker is sturdy, looks sleek and the functions are easy to use. I’ve managed to get through the basics easily. I have been using it every day to cook rice, and to steam/keep warm other foods. So far so good. Perfect rice every time! The unit comes with a cooking plate which is not available in my old unit. No more bits of rice stick at the bottom of my keep-warm dish anymore. The plate is just very practical. I have used the cooking plate to steam fish as suggested in the recipe book that came with the unit. The fish came out moist and tender. I would thought the temperature would have overcooked the fish, I was so wrong. I started steaming veggies and mushrooms, and I love it! I found myself a gem!

I can’t say enough good about this rice cooker. I was a bit hesitant to step up from my several-years old cheapie but the non-stick was scratched and the rice was getting more and more like mush. So, the question was: another cheapie or take the plunge? I took the plunge and I’m glad I did. Bismati and Jasmine rice both come out beautifully and brown rice cooks up perfectly. My one and only complaint is that the keep warm feature doesn’t deactivate if the pot is removed and the lid is closed (as in the pot is in the sink). More than once I’ve forgotten to switch that off. Probably there’s a function I haven’t found yet. Anyway, I highly recommend this cooker. 4.9 stars from me.

I’m vaguely aware that rice can be boiled in a covered pan on a stove, but I have no confidence I could make rice that way that anyone would actually want to eat. So during the course of a long marriage to a Japanese woman, there has always been an electronic rice cooker in the house. We recently decided to replace ours with one of a little higher capacity, the Tiger JAX S10U 5.5 cup cooker/warmer. With its tasteful blend of white, chrome, and brushed aluminum surfaces, this rice cooker gives a cool and modern look to the countertop. It is solid and well-built, but light with a nice handle that swivels out of your way, and a low profile, so you can store it in a cabinet when not in use if you prefer. Like the rice cooker it replaced in our kitchen, the Tiger JAX S10U has automatic features that make cooking a simple pot of rice nearly effortless. But what sets the Tiger apart is the range of cooking modes it offers. In addition to handling a variety of rice types and preparation methods, it also has a slow cooker mode. And here’s something I’ve never seen: above the non-stock pot in which the rice is cooked is room for a plastic cooking plate in which you can steam vegetables or other foods simultaneously with the cooking of the rice. The cooker senses when the rice is done and switches automatically to Keep Warm mode, so your food is cooked just right and ready when you are. You can eat rice that’s been in Keep Warm mode for many hours and it is still fresh and delicious. The Tiger operating instructions are clear and organized, so my questions about initial settings were answered quickly. But learning to use this rice cooker is effortless. We love simple white rice, so for us it is simply a matter of rinsing the rice well, measuring the water using the markings on the side of the inner pot, dropping it into the cooker, closing the lid, and pressing the start button. Thirty-five or so minutes later, we have perfect rice to accompany our meal. The Tiger comes with a recipe book, for those of you looking for a little more flavorful side dish. With this cooker, you’ll have a real leg up on creating some delicious meals. The wife and I disagree about the value of the timer function: I like it, she doesn’t (she’d prefer the uncooked rice not be sitting in water for hours before cooking). But you have the function built into the Tiger if you want it, and it can be a real convenience to have your rice preparation completed just as you are arriving home for a meal! We will explore the slow cooker and other features later, but for now I’m delighted with the effective and convenient Tiger JAX S10U rice cooker.

I am in love with the tiger Jax-S18U-WY. I bought the 10 cup model. This thing is a beast. Love the industrial design. The rice taste better than my basic model tiger rice cooker. My family and friends are now Jelous because mine taste better than theirs. Two things I absolutely love about this rice cooker is how it cook my 2017 rice grain to my liking and I can steam my veggies, fish, and potatoes while my rice cooks. Satisfied customer and would definitely recommend to all you rice lovers. This is a must if rice is a food staple in your family. Note: the product came extremely fast for non prime shipping. Took about three days for me.

This is the 2nd Tiger rice cooker in my big family. We’ve been using rice cookers all the time and this is by far the best I've used and is well worth the price. The other brands we had used before invariably bubble or leave messy pasty residue on the outside of the machine. This Tiger does not because of the design. Plus it looks beautiful. It is easier to clean than all the current brands I've used. Most important, the same rice, which didn't taste good in my old retired machine, tastes great when cooked with this machine. So what I thought was the quality of the rice was not the case; it was the quality of the machine. The extended warm feature is very nice for keeping the rice in good condition over an extended period. The warm feature is great for warming up the cooked rice. Further, the cooked which stays fresh for 2-3 days in the cooker, something to which my son testified. It took some doing to buy a rice cooker at this price, but it is a staple for our family. At first the timer seemed difficult, but after I figured out the logic of the manufacturer, it is very logical and so much easier to use than the usual time delays on conventional machines. I would recommend this great rice cooker to anyone who’s looking for a solid one lasts many many years.

Rice function is perfect. It's easy to use the timer to make porrige for breakfast but if you use a steamer on the top of porrige，food may be soaked in the steamer.May be another steamer with holes in the bottom is necessary. while the plasic steamer is possibly to drop into the pot.

Very good product and keep warm rice all day

I just got the rice Cooker today, but when I opened the lid the machine started shake, it is very weird. I never had a rice cooker do this. Design is poor, do not recommend.
