These are the staples you are looking for
These are seriously strong and are more robust in quality than any others on the market. They are expensive, for sure, but you really do get what you pay for sometimes. This is one of those times. If you want the best, here they are.

Strong and easy to install
I tried three different products to hold my 1/2” drip irrigation line in place. The first was an inferior product, that cost less. The thickness of the wire was much thinner and did not hold the tubing in place as well as I wanted it to be held in place. And it bent very easily when hammering. The second product was the rain bird plastic anchor, and that worked best in holding the tubing in place. The drawback was that (a) I had to cut my super strong landscape fabric so that the point could get to the dirt and (b) a smaller issue, is that the head sticks up above the tubing, which is ok if you bury your tubing 1/2” into the dirt, and (c) price, if you are installing 700 feet of distribution line to nine landscaping beds, the plastic ones can be pricy. My preference of the three is the rain bird metal stake. As you can see from the picture, the product is made with points on the end, and those points easily cut through my landscaping fabric. The metal is thick enough not to bend when hammering. And the metal is galvanized, so it should last for years and years. Yes, there are cheaper options, but I have decided that this is the best product for my situation.

Drip Irrigation Project!
This review is for a variety of products all in one. This spring (2013) my wife and I put in 2 4'x20' raised bed gardens in the back yard for growing flowers and veggies. We live in Tennessee and the middle of the summer is hot and dry. I wanted a way to keep the plants watered and decided to convert a "spray zone" of our irrigation system to drip. I set up the garden with short rows that run the width of the boxes. I designed the garden with lots of short rows that run the 4' width of the boxes. Imagine a railroad track. The rails are the "feeder lines" that run the length of my setup, and the drip lines are the railroad ties that cut across the width of the garden (parallel with the rows of plants). I needed "feeder line" to bring the water to the drippers, and a variety of connectors to put it all together. I planned it all out on paper first, and then made sure I purchased enough parts. I purchased the following products for my setup:Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Emitter Tubing With 18-Inch Spacing - 100-Foot Roll (5 stars)Rain Bird BT50-4PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Barbed Tees, 4 Pack (5 stars)Rain Bird BE50-4PK 1/2-Inch Barbed Elbows (5 stars)Rain Bird EC50-Rain Bird GS50-10PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Galvanized Wire Secures, 10-Pack (4 stars)2PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch End Closure Fittings (5 stars)Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System Spray Head To Drip Connection Kit (5 stars)Rain Bird T63100-BULK 1/2-Inch 100-Feet Landscape Dripline System Blank Tubing Roll (5 stars)These parts were all high quality, and I am extremely pleased with the setup. I cut all the tubing to size and layed it all out prior to putting it all together. It is very difficult to fit the tubing over the barbs, but once on it stays in place and doesn't leak. My hands ached after putting a bunch of the tubing together, so I ended up using leather work gloves which made things go a lot better.A few things to note:1) I don't have a rainbird setup, and this kit fit in great with my existing irrigation system.2) The tubing is a bit stiff and can kink easily, but works very well, so be careful when connecting things.3) The tubing and barbs are not the same inner diameter as stuff you can get at plumbing supply or home improvement centers. That means you can't mix and match, which is ok with me.4) I used some teflon plumbers tape when attaching parts that screw in.

Good product.
Good fit and seems durable.

Solid
As much as these stakes seem overpriced I have to admit they are well made and did a rock solid job holding down my rain bird 1/2 irrigation tubing. I could smack em in with my rubber mallet and they wouldn’t bend which is more than I can say for other cheaper products.

Just a plain U-shaped wire: NOT the superior design depicted!
Paid a premium for Rainbird products when I installed a drip irrigation system in my garden several years ago and was very pleased with function and durability. In particular, the pictured shape with “pronounced bend on each leg” held far better over time, while copycat staples without that shape soon loosened and had to be constantly pushed back in place. For that reason, I ordered these - which have the same picture on the package they came in.I was stunned when I cut open the packages on the day of the installation and discovered that Amazon sold and shipped plain old U-shaped staples instead! When I read recent reviews, I was angry to learn than this problem has been reported previously, so this was not accidental. But, the return window had closed and I couldn’t delay the installation, so I had to use them. Can’t tell if Rainbird changed the design or if Amazon inventory is non-OEM, but I expected better from both companies. Might as well order much cheaper clones instead.

Stays put without rusting
These came with my rainbird irrigation kit and I bought more because they were good quality. Stays put in the ground without rusting, good for anchoring mesh netting, hoses and tubes.

Hose stakes etc.
Simply are what they are. Ideally would be longer to hold water lines…etc. in place.

Works as intended
I got these for a drip irrigation project but also find them handy for holding down landscaping cloth. Easy to insert without a hammer. Bend if hammered.
