I've toyed with the notion of growing a beard since the first time hair began to sprout on my face back in highschool. I kept myself pretty clean shaven at first, switching to a rather goofy looking elvis-styled set of sideburns in college and ultimately alternating between a bit of a thick chinstrap and a close-cropped beard for most of my life after that. Then one year, I decided to participate in no-shave-november. I decided to see how far I could take it and went for about three months (I did do a bit of touch up shaving after November). That Christmas my brother (who has a rather prodigious beard) gave me some Maestro's beard butter (Mark of a Man blend) and I found myself really enjoying having a full beard, pretty much for the first time. The beard butter really softened up my beard hair while also providing some decent control.Well, after that three month period, I did wind up shaving it all off. It felt good, but I started longing for a full beard again. I told myself that if I was going to do this, I was going to do it proper. So I purchased this beard wash as I've been very happy with their beard butter. I am very happy to report that it is completely fantastic. I find that it does a great job of not only cleaning my beard, but it makes the hair feel healthier, softer and significantly more manageable.If you are concerned about the amount you get for the cost, you really only need to use a few drops for an average beard length (I think they say pour an amount in your hand about the size of a nickel, honestly, sometimes that's even too much) so don't worry, it will last for a while. For what it does to your beard and the amount you get, it's really worth it.

My husband was having issues with his beard chafing and was recommended to use this product. It has worked so well and he's been using it ever since. Then I started to experience some dry patches on my face and he recommended that I give it a try as well.... and GUESS what the patches cleared up by the next day. Yes, it has a masculine scent, but now we both use this product for our facial cleansing needs. You only need a small amount as it goes a long way. I use some with my electric facial cleansing brush every other day. Purchasing the 8oz amount is cheaper (from what I've found) than the 4oz sold in local stores.

I get dry skin with my beard and since I am lazy (hence beard) I seldom do the proper things that keep you from having dry skin. Most beard wash I have used really didn't do anything to help me fix my dry skin once it goes off the rails but this stuff lets me stay on my super lazy routine without snowing everywhere. Love it. And the review asked me to rate the flavor? Gonna say that it tastes horrible. But dont take my word, taste it yourself.

Never knew I would need this. I use Maestro's beard butter and used to use my wife's hair conditioner for my beard. That was too rough and didn't work that great. You definitely need this wash to soften the beard. Only need a very small amount. Smells great too! Made in the USA!!

I'm in love with this beard/mustache shampoo. It has softened my beard immensely, making it less itchy and much more comfortable for my girlfriend. It's honestly easier to manage too, doesn't make my beard fall flat or anything, but it's much less frizzy after washing with it, and the amount I use to wash my face is small so it lasts a long time, 2 months for the small bottle-ish. She loves the scent that comes from the beard cream that maestro also makes. I've never had a woman so into my smell. Will be buying again.

Yes, this is very expensive. But - it works like no other beard wash I have used or tried. You only need a tiny bit, so it lasts. Used in conjunction with Maestro's beard butter and a good beard brush... it is a great combo for beard maintenance. It is worth it in my book.

While it's a tad expensive, Love the scent and like the way it cleans my beard. I am a regular user of this product-so yes I will buy again and yes I would and have recommend to a friend.

Do you need a separate wash just for your beard? Who knows; but if you want to try one, this is your winner! Lathers up wonderfully and leaves both the beard and skin underneath healthy. I’ve had fewer irritations on the skin since using this and I’m on my 3rd bottle. It’s become a welcome part of my morning routine.
